"I gave [executive producer] Frank Valentini the rundown of where my heart was," says Cheetwood, who plays Milo. "He said that he understood 100 percent because he has a ton of family on the East Coast that he misses every day. I said, 'I hope it doesn't mean that Milo can never be a part of the show again. If you guys can group some shows together, maybe I can fly out.'" Valentini let Cheetwood know there was a very good chance that could happen.

Anecdotally, the robust social presence for shows like Scandal and Empire seems to have helped pique interest among some viewers — Empire's social engagement numbers, at least, rose in step with its Nielsen ratings. But whether there's a direct, cause-and-effect relationship between the two is still very much an open question.

Martin, who recurred heavily in the first two seasons, plays Eric Miller, the well-intentioned seaman and youngest member of Cobra team. Foster (ex-Quinn Hudson, Days of our Lives) plays Senior Chief Wolf Taylor, an Australian naval operator who joined the crew in Norfolk this past season.
