Kassie DePaiva Leaving 'Days of our Lives' and the Role of Eve Larson

As Days of our Lives approaches its 50th anniversary, the show continues to make changes in front of and behind the camera in an effort to raise ratings and secure a renewal from NBC. Emmy nominated actress Kassie DePaiva is latest member of the cast revealed to be leaving. According to Serial Scoop, DePaiva will remain onscreen for several more months as Eve Larson. Eve's ex-husband, Eduardo, played by Emmy winner A Martinez, is one of the new characters set to arrive in Salem.

How Eve will ultimately leave Salem is unknown but she will not be a victim of the serial killer wreaking havoc at the moment.

DePaiva debuted as the recast Eve in July 2014 episode, taking on a role previously played by Charlotte Ross.

"Eve is a very challenging character," DePaiva said in a recent interview. "She's very damaged so it's been challenging to make her real."

While we don't know what's going to happen with Eve in the coming months, we do know she will be singing on the Christmas episode.

"I"m singing on Days, on the Christmas episode you'll see me sing, which is nice," DePaiva revealed last month.

DePaiva is best known for her portrayal of Blair Cramer on One Life to Live, earning a Daytime Emmy Award nomination in 2005. Prior to OLTL, she starred for five years as Chelsea Reardon on Guiding Light.

  1. It would be nice if Ken Corday paid as much attention to Days day in and day out as he does right around renewal time. He re-boots the show so often and it never sticks. Take a page from Bradley Bell, who manages his show EVERY day and keeps his parents' legacy alive.

  2. I loved Kassie as Blair but never warmed up to her Eve.

  3. I LOVE Kassie - and I really miss Blair and liked Eve...but they made her so one-dimensional. That's too bad cuz Kassie's talent was wasted on this character.
