In the new issue of Soap Opera Digest, Collins talked frankly about her exit from the top-rated daytime drama.
"I've been disappointed with the story and the direction and integrity of my character for quite some time, but I was still hopeful we might all be able to turn it around," she admitted. "Then my contract was up for renewal and I wasn’t happy with their offer. I was told there was no room for discussion, which made me realize there wouldn’t be much discussion for the character, either."

I wasn't always the biggest Avery fan but I do like JC and I agree about this latest storyline. They are trying to make a character who used to hit his wife more appealing than a rape victim. Hopefully she leaves with some integrity.
