Richard Burgi Joins 'General Hospital' as Paul Hornsby

Richard Burgi
Richard Burgi has joined the cast of ABC soap opera General Hospital as Paul Hornsby, Tracy's ex, and the father of Dillon Quartermaine (Robert Palmer Watkins). At the end of Tuesday's episode of GH, Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) ran into a familiar face at the airport. On Wednesday, the mystery person was revealed to be Paul.

Burgi is no stranger to daytime drama, having started his career with roles on Another World (Chad Rollo), One Life to Live (Randy Stone) and As the World Turns (Glenn Harrington). He also played Phillip Collier on Days of our Lives.

"Hello, Tracy."
Burgi's many primetime credits include One West Waikiki, The Sentinel, 24, Judging Amy, Point Pleasant, Desperate Housewives, Harper's Island, Body of Proof and One Tree Hill.

The role of Paul Horsby was previously plyaed by Paul Satterfield from 1991-1994. Paul was married to Jenny Eckert (Cheryl Richardson) when he left Port Charles in 1994.

When Tracy saw him on Wednesday's GH, she wasn't happy.

"You're a lying cheat in a pretty package," she said.

  2. I'm very happy to see that it looks like Tracy has some good story heading her way. No disrespect intended to anyone but I think Luke's exit will be great for the Quatermaine Queen. I feel like a few years back a beautiful story line was set up for Tracy with her not settling for anything but the whole meal instead of scraps both in love and her family's business. Then it seemed that story was scrapped for the Fluke stuff. Looking forward to seeing HER story finally play.

  3. Burgi is a nice guy, handsome leading man and a good actor. I enjoyed working with him on AW and happy to see him back on the tube. Great casting and good news for Tracy to finally have a love interest worthy of her mettle. Let's hope they can write for them.

  6. I like Burgi, but would have loved Satterfield back. I wonder why he didn't return?

    1. I really think Paul would have been the best too. He was perfect with Tracy. Burgi seems nice but a little too vain. More about how he looks and a bit lackluster on the acting. Maybe if he will stop trying so hard to and just relax.

  7. He knows how to act for soaps and he's sex on a stick. A worthy addition to the cast and potential for great chemistry with the mega-talented and gorgeous Jane Elliot.

  8. Can see a catfight among the older females for the attentions of Paul. Lucy, Olivia, Alexis, Bobbi would all go for him. The best rivalry would be between Tracy & Laura in business and going after Paul.

  9. Glad to see the show getting stories lined up before Geary's departure. This will avoid the stumbling block Days had when one of its most reconizable faces left awhile back. Love Jane and while I liked Satterfield in the role, I think Burgi will do just fine.
