'Dark Shadows' Marathon Airs on Decades Network From May 13-16

The new Decades broadcast network officially goes live in just over 12 days. For the past few months, Decades has been counting down to its launch by airing marathons of some beloved TV classics, dubbed "The Binge." On Wednesday, May 13 at 6 p.m. ET, a 3-day marathon of Dark Shadows begins.

Decades starts its Dark Shadows block with episode 210, the first appearance of the character of Barnabas Collins (his hand only). Jonathan Frid begins playing the iconic character in the following episode. The marathon concludes with Episode 340, airing on Friday, May 16 at 1:30 p.m. ET.

Decades will broadcast 130 episodes of Dark Shadows in total during "The Binge" but will not be airing the series as part of its regular lineup.

  1. As wonderful an idea as this sounds, methinks decades doesn't know what a TV binge really is versus a marathon. They are two different things. Binge on a show means you watch when and however many episodes you want WHEN you want, usually using a digital device or the Internet. TV marathons are determined by the network and you can tune in when you want but unless you tune in from the beginning, you WILL MISS an episode.

Unless Decades plans to offer viewers more options, I don't think they should use the word BINGE. It's just a plain old Marathon-- not that there's anything wrong with that;)

Sorry to be so nitpicky but it really is more than a question of semantics.

  2. Why did they flip to TZ so soon they didn't finish out DS ?

  3. They left viewers hanging high and dry with no place to go. How stupid and inconsiderate of Decades!
