A Martinez Joins 'Days of our Lives'

Emmy winner A Martinez is coming to Days of our Lives.

A Martinez, who won a Daytime Emmy in 1990 for his portrayal of Cruz Castillo on Santa Barbara, is coming to Days of our Lives. According to Soap Opera Digest, Martinez will play "a new role that will have many connections in Salem."

Based on the following tweet from Martinez, it looks like he may be playing Rafe and Gabi's father: "A Place for Me in Salem @DaysofOurLives @galengering @KassieDePaiva @camilabanus #thelongandwindingroad #daddyissues"

Martinez received eight total Daytime Emmy Awards nominations for his work on Santa Barbara. His numerous other credits include General Hospital, One Life to Live, The Bold and the Beautiful, The Bay, Longmire and California Solo.
