'General Hospital' Wins WGA Award

The Writers Guild of America, West and The Writers Guild of America, East are holding simultaneous awards ceremonies Saturday at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles and the Edison Ballroom in New York. Lisa Kudrow is hosting the Los Angeles ceremony, while Larry Wilmore hosts the New York event.

Ron Carlivati and the writing team from General Hospital won the award in the Daytime Drama category. Days of our Lives was the other nominee. Note: The last time a daytime soap opera won the WGA Award and a Daytime Emmy for writing in the same year was 2006 (The Young and the Restless).
