When the nominations for the 46th NAACP Image Awards were revealed on Tuesday, the daytime drama acting categories were missing. Earlier this year, The Young and the Restless star Kristoff St. John was named Outstanding Actor in a Daytime Drama Series for the second year in a row, while Y&R's Tatyana Ali won for the fourth consecutive year as Outstanding Actress in a Daytime Drama Series. We Love Soaps asked the NAACP about the omission of daytime from its 2015 ceremony and received the following statement:"The NAACP Image Awards have evolved over the years which includes the number of award show categories. Each year, the NAACP Image Awards Committee discusses and reviews the categories and implements changes to enhance the show as well as to evolve with changing times – this includes adding categories as well as removing ones that were once part of the process. Currently there are 54 categories that are voted on by the NAACP Image Awards Committee and announced at the pre-show and/or main show."
