'All My Children' Actor Adam Mayfield Returns to Daytime in 'Days of our Lives' Recurring Role

Adam Mayfield
Adam Mayfield is returning to daytime in a recurring role on NBC soap opera Days of our Lives, according to his official website.

Mayfield's updated bio includes the following news: "Since last fall, Adam has kept busy with the theatrical release of the psychological thriller, Would You Rather? He starred alongside Haley Duff and Constance Marie in Sweet Surrender, which made its premiere this January. And was most recently cast as Jenny Garth's husband 'Michael' in the new ABC Family comedy Mystery Girls. He also returned to daytime this fall to stir up some trouble on Days of our Lives."

Days of our Lives tapes five months ahead so look for Mayfield to debut in 2015.

Mayfield is best known to soap fans for his portrayal of Scott Chandler on ABC's All My Children from 2009-2010.

Mayfield watched Days as a kid. He told We Love Soaps about it in our 2009 interview.

"I got addicted to Days of our Lives [when] I was 13 or 14 years old. It was summer vacation. Both my parents were working at the time, and I was stuck around the house doing chores. Before long doing chores evolved into folding laundry every day between twelve to one watching Days of our Lives and getting really sucked into the story. I remember Bo and Hope were really heavy into the story at that time, and Patch and Kayla. I remember them more than anybody, those two couples really stuck in my mind. So there I was glued to the TV from twelve to one everyday. And by no means there’s anything wrong with that. But when you’re a thirteen or fourteen-year-old boy, a little stigma is attached. I thought, 'This is something I’ll need to put away when school starts.' And that’s exactly what happened. The only reason I quit was because I had to go back to school."
