Julian St. John, Son of 'The Young and the Restless' Star Kristoff St. John, Dead at 24

Julian St. John
Julian St. John, the son of longtime The Young and the Restless star Kristoff St. John (Neil Winters), died on November 23 at age 24. On Friday it was revealed that Julian took his life just days before his 25th birthday.

"Our son was the light of our lives, an artist with a beautiful mind and spirit," Julian St. John's mother, professional boxer Mia St. John, wrote on social media.

"He fought long and hard against an illness for which there is no cure. Unfortunately the pain became too great for him and I dare not say he lost the battle–he simply chose to set himself free. My fight for mental health will continue. They may not find a cure in my lifetime, but we can try and prevent the loss of another beautiful soul."

Mia divorced Kristoff in 1995.

Kristoff has played Neil Winters on Y&R since 1991. On Twitter, he wrote: "Even the most glorious sonrise, bursting with light, love, and life, must finally set…From here to eternity."

Both parents shared links to Julian’s art.

Funeral services are scheduled for Julian’s birthday, Dec. 5, in Westlake, California, followed by a reception and art exhibit from his final collection.
