1979: The identity of Edge of Night's "Tobias" was revealed.
1984: Days of our Lives' Bo and Hope made love for the first time.
1984: Guiding Light's Bert was given a surprise party.
1995: One Life to Live's Max sat by Luna's bedside.

On this date in...

1967: On Another World, Pat (Susan Trustman) introduced Rachel (Robin Strasser) to her Aunt Liz (Audra Lindley).

1975: On Ryan's Hope, Mary (Kate Mulgrew) declined when Bob (Earl Hindman) asked her out, but accepted an invitation from Jack (Michael Levin) to join him for coffee. Later, Jack and Mary shared their first kiss.

1979: On The Edge of Night, Steve shot "Tobias" which save Paige (Margaret) in the nick of time. Tobias turned out to be Jed in disguise.



1984: On Days of our Lives, Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso) made love for the first time while in New Orleans.



1984: On Guiding Light, H.B. (Larry Gates) told Josh (Robert Newman) he would never trust him again after Josh pulled "a sneaky move" with Reva (Kim Zimmer). The staff at Cedars gave Bert (Charita Bauer) a surprise party when she was released from the hospital nearly three months after her leg was amputated.



1984: On Santa Barbara, Joe (Dane Witherspoon) called Kelly (Robin Wright) and asked him to meet him. Peter (Stephen Meadows) asked Mason to call the cops on an armed Joe. Elsewhere, Lionel (Nicolas Coster) visited Sophia Capwell's grave.



1985: On Ryan's Hope, the judge gave D.J. LaSalle (Christian Slater) a suspended sentence.

1995: On All My Children, Arlene (Olivia Birkelund) had sex with her daughter Hayley's fiance, Alec McIntyre (Grant Aleksander).



1995: On One Life to Live, at the hospital Max (James DePaiva) begged Luna (Susan Batten) to hold on after she had been shot in Angel Square.



1997: Indian soap opera Amanat premiered on Zee TV.   The show, which was one of the most popular of its time, ran until October 2, 2002.

1998: On Guiding Light, Ben Warren (Hunt Block) began his offensive to prove that he had not raped Blake Marler (Elizabeth Keifer) who was supposedly paralyzed.

2007: On Passions, Sheridan (McKenzie Westmore) was shocked when she opened her cottage door, expecting Luis, and found Vincent (Phillip Jeanmarie).



2010: Actress Nancy Dolman, who played Annie Selig in ABC's primetime comedy Soap, died at age 57.
