Hot Hulu web novela 'East Los High' spans media platforms to help young Latinos make smart choices, researchers say
Hua (Helen) Wang, PhD, assistant professor of communication at the University at Buffalo, and Arvind Singhal, PhD, professor of communication at the University of Texas at El Paso, were engaged by the producers to evaluate the impact of this phenomenal program, and Wang says it is the opinion of the research team that East Los certainly did what it set out to do.

In addition to excellent writing, acting and production values, Wang says, the series has benefited from the fact that it deals with real life conundrums, involves a talented Latino creative team and has been involved from the outset with community groups that deal with the problems experienced by the show's characters.

Fox explains cutting 'Glee' final season order: 'It burned so hot and so fast'
“I think Glee is one of the great shows in television history, and it was so hot and so big,” Fox Networks Group Chairman-CEO Peter Rice said. “I remember being in this room, and while a lot of people assumed it was going to fail, you guys supported it. And it touched so many hearts and brought social issues to the forefront, and it burned so hot and so fast. But it’s been on for over 100 episodes now in six seasons, and we want to go out in a way that celebrates it. And we thought that finding 13 episodes and compacting it and doing it in a straight run was a better way to finish the show.”

Troubling Times for Chalky White in the New 'Boardwalk Empire' Teaser
When Michael K. Williams revealed that Boardwalk Empire would jump forward to 1931 for the HBO drama’s final season, the time-jump brought with it the possibility that Williams’ Chalky White may have improved upon his diminished circumstances from Season 4′s finale. If the new “St. James” teaser that HBO released Sunday night is any indication, however, Mr. White seems to be in even worse conditions than when we last saw him.
