Cady McClain on taking over the role of Kelly on THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS
"There's much more pressure being an instant replacement. Boom! Usually when this happens on a soap there's a break of a few months or at least weeks. And Cynthia was mind-bogglingly good and really made her mark with some award-worthy work. So I'm like, 'Oh, s—t!' But I'm bringing my A game and hoping the fans will accept me."

    1. While there's a spoiler in the DailyMail headline repeated here, honestly, EE seems to want everyone to know this. This "Death of Lucy" storyline has been getting headlines in the media for weeks now. Who kills Lucy? is even being played at the betting agencies now .. lol! .. It's just like HOLLYOAKS, which this week released a major promo for their upcoming murder storyline, even creating a twitter hashtag for it. It's like, if one follows any kind of press for the show at all, then you know about it ... and they want you to know about ... and they want you to start talking about it. - jmho

    2. I don't think it's a spoiler at this point. The Mirror, Digital Spy and Daily Mail are full of headlines like this these days.
And yes, the story isn't really the death of Lucy Beale but the whodunit that follows and the story for the Beale family that Dominic Treadwell-Collins previewed in his latest interviews.

  3. It's great to see the Brit-Soaps among the soap news on WLS. I wish you guys would post more about them. They tell stories in such a unique way and are very different from the American Daytime soaps. EastEnders is my favorite soap to watch at the moment.

    1. Hollyoaks has been my guilty pleasure for years, but I have to admit, right now EastEnders is like that soap "I run home to watch." ..I think The Carters have infused some much needed energy in the show, yet have not overtaken it. Their introduction has been handled so well. .. And when it comes to differences, I had to laugh the other day when thinking, would an American Daytime soap ever add a mortician (the Les Coker character) to its regular cast? .. lol!
