EAST LOS HIGH Renewed For Season 2 By Hulu, Will Now Be Developed In-House

On Wednesday, Hulu announced the renewal of breakthrough teen drama EAST LOS HIGH as a Hulu Original series for 12 episodes. Expect even more nail-biting drama and scandal this summer.

The English-language series with an all-Latino cast first came to Hulu in 2013 as an acquisition, and was the number one series on Hulu Latino throughout the summer and a top 5 hit show on Hulu. Season two of EAST LOS HIGH is now being developed in-house with Prajna Productions, The Alchemists, Into Action Films and Population Media Center.

The 2013 breakthrough Hulu drama returns hotter than ever as romance, sex, dancing and mystery once again fill the halls with a new cast of students at East Los High. Ceci (Danielle Vega) returns to coach the Bomb Squad, struggling to take the unruly dance team to state championships. Working as a single mom, Ceci faces new challenges with a hot new boyfriend who turns out to be more than meets the eye. Things get heated as mysterious turns of events make it another breathtaking year.

More than 15 leading public health organizations advised on the scripts and content to address teen issues related to relationships and sexuality in a meaningful way.

The show joins the 2014 Hulu Originals slate announced earlier today from CES.

  1. Great news! This was a favorite of mine last year. And renewal doesn't surprise me, since even months after it ended, it was still a very popularly-ranked show on Hulu - not to mention their theme song is great .. lol!
