In "0-8-4," Coulson and his S.H.I.E.L.D. agents travel to Peru to investigate an object of unknown origin, codenamed 0-8-4. But when he runs into Comandante Camilla Reyes (Leonor Varela), more than just sparks fly at 30,000 feet.
Watch a sneak peek below:
MARVEL'S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. stars Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson, Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, Brett Dalton as Agent Grant Ward, Chloe Bennet as Skye, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz and Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons.
Guest starring are Leonor Varela as Camilla Reyes, Carlos Leal as archaeologist, Anthony Dilio as Cusi and Celestin Cornielle as Vilca.
"0-8-4" was written by Maurissa Tancharoen & Jed Wheden & Jeffrey Bell and directed by David Straiton.
One character not seen in last week's series premiere was S.H.I.E.L.D. director Nick Fury, played in Marvel Studios' feature films by Samuel L. Jackson -- but Marvel and ABC are teasing that a guest appearance may come sooner rather than later.
A 20-second promo posted Sunday on the show's Facebook page closes with a shot of the bird in the S.H.I.E.L.D. logo noticeably sporting an eye patch, part of Fury's signature look. The accompanying narration states, "Don't risk the spoilers. Stay to the very end."
Also on Sunday, "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." star Clark Gregg wrote on Twitter, "Just finished setting my [DVR] to record episode #2 of #agentsofSHIELD. All of it. Credits and all," likely hinting at a Marvel Studios-esque post-credits scene of the episode.
MARVEL'S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D., Marvel's first television series, was co-created by Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon & Maurissa Tancharoen (DOLLHOUSE, DR. HORRIBLE'S SING-ALONG BLOG), who also serve as executive producers along with Jeph Loeb (SMALLVILLE, LOST, HEROES) and Jeffrey Bell (ANGEL, ALIAS). MARVEL'S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. is produced by ABC Studios and Marvel Television.
