ABC Music Lounge's NASHVILLE-inspired docu-web series, ON THE RECORD, is live with the original song, "Gonna Get Even," written by Kacey Musgraves, Al Anderson and Pat McLaughlin and performed by Aubrey Peeples as Layla Grant. The song, which is also available now on iTunes and ABC.com/MusicLounge, is featured on NASHVILLE, Wednesday October 2 (10-11 p.m. ET/PT) on ABC.
ON THE RECORD: GONNA GET EVEN goes behind the scenes with songwriter's Al Anderson and Pat McLaughlin and the song's performer Aubrey Peeples, guest starring as Layla Grant. Interviews with Callie Khouri (creator/executive producer) and Dee Johnson (showrunner/executive producer) discuss casting a show with needs as specific as NASHVILLE's and how guest star, Peeples was the perfect choice to play new comer Layla Grant.
“One of the most difficult things about casting this show is that we’re asking for a lot. Not only do you have to act, but you have to sing and be comfortable performing,” shared Johnson.
“We saw Aubrey early on -- I love her voice, she’s absolutely great and different from anyone else in the cast,” added Khouri.
All original music is released by ABC Studios, Lionsgate and ABC Music Lounge in association with Big Machine Records.
