Strong Ratings For DEBBIE MACOMBER'S CEDAR COVE Pilot; Next Episode Airs July 27

Hallmark Channel's foray into scripted primetime programming captured the hearts of viewers Saturday night, with the 2-hour movie premiere of its first original series, DEBBIE MACOMBER'S CEDAR COVE, becoming the #1-rated ad-supported cable movie of the week and day, attracting over 3.8 million unduplicated viewers, and securing a 2.4 household rating. The pilot was also the #3-rated drama premiere on cable among households this summer to-date.

The first regular episode airs Saturday, July 27 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Check out a preview below.

Judge Olivia Lockhart (Andie MacDowell) finds herself in A House Divided after her seaside town goes up in arms when arrogant and wealthy developer Warren Saget (Brennan Elliott) threatens to tear down Cedar Cove’s historic lighthouse. Local Thyme and Tide innkeepers Bob and Peggy Beldon (Bruce Boxleitner and Barbara Niven) lead the townspeople in protest, including Olivia’s mom Charlotte (Paula Shaw), leaving Olivia caught in the middle when the case ends up in her courtroom and she must put her emotions aside to abide by the law.

Then, Olivia’s new romance with newspaper reporter Jack Griffith (Dylan Neal) is threatened when he paints Olivia in an unfavorable light in his story about the case. While the town begins to turn their backs on their respected judge, Olivia’s daughter Justine (Sarah Smyth), recently single after ending her engagement to Warren, sees a spark reignite with old high school sweetheart Seth Gunderson (Corey Sevier) and Olivia’s best friend Grace Sherman (Teryl Rothery), home from a post-divorce vacation, begins readjusting to single life.



Also starring: Timothy Webber (“Moon”), Elyse Levesque (“Maryellen”) and Garry Chalk (“Sheriff Troy Davis”).
