In a true celebration of U.S. Latino pop culture, Telemundo announced the nominees to the second annual Premios Tu Mundo (Your World Awards), a spectacular event featuring star-studded musical performances to be broadcast live on Thursday, August 15, at 8 p.m. ET, from the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida. Through a fan voting and selection process that combines the power of television, web, mobile and social media platforms, and is managed by Telescope Inc., the market leader in audience participation and consumer engagement for live television (The Voice, American Idol, X-Factor), Telemundo viewers will have the final say in what’s hot in novelas, music, fashion, movies and sports, selecting from 20 competing categories, and making the winners a true reflection of the people’s choice. The eclectic list of categories include: The Perfect Couple, Best Villain, I’m Sexy and I Know It, Best Social Fan Club, Favorite Viral Video and Sports Sensation of the Year, among others. Nominees, which were selected by a panel of industry professionals, include top Latino music stars Carlos Vives, Don Omar, Pitbull, Prince Royce, Wisin y Yandel, Gerardo Ortiz and, Jesse & Joy; novela stars Jencarlos Canela, Rafael Amaya, Aracely Arambula and, Christian Bach; top Latino stars in Hollywood such as Michelle Rodriguez, Zoe Saldaña and, Gael Garcia Bernal; sport icons Lionel “Leo” Messi, Juan Manuel Marquez and Chicharito Hernandez, among many others.
Beginning today through 12 p.m. ET, July 24th, fans can vote online at www.PremiosTuMundo.com using a valid Facebook ID, and clicking on “Vota”, where each contestant is displayed by Category. Online Voting is open to anyone with a valid Facebook account in Puerto Rico and the 50 States including Washington DC, Hawaii and Alaska. Smartphone users can also vote at www.PremiosTuMundo.com by using a Facebook ID to cast votes.
