1966: On THE GUIDING LIGHT, Bill (Ed Bryce) lamented his failure with Ed (Robert Gentry).

1975: SEARCH FOR TOMORROW co-stars Peter Simon (Scott) and Courtney Sherman (Kathy) were married. Simon would eventually go on to a long run at GUIDING LIGHT while Sherman wrote (and sometimes appeared on) AS THE WORLD TURNS.

1981: On THE EDGE OF NIGHT, Raven (Sharon Gabet) was enthusiastic about her wedding to Sky (Larkin Malloy).

1982: Dody Goodman debuted as Mavis Cobb in NBC's TEXAS.

1983: On ALL MY CHILDREN, Opal (Dorothy Lyman) held a press conference at the Glamorama.



1984: On GUIDING LIGHT, Beth (Judi Evans) and Lujack (Vincent Irizarry) hit the beach with "Almost Paradise" playing in the background. Watch the classic episode below.



1987: On AS THE WORLD TURNS, Rod (William Fichtner) had a session with Dr. Michaels (Courtney Sherman).



1988: On GENERAL HOSPITAL, Lila (Anna Lee) refused to let Edward (David Lewis) tear up a letter from Tracy.



1999: On ANOTHER WORLD, Jake (Tom Eplin) apologized to Marley (Ellen Wheeler), who moved out with the help of Tyrone (Henry Simmons, whose wet shirtless scene in this episode is one of the sexiest ever on soaps). Later, Tyrone told Marley he loved her.



2004: Jeff Branson debuted on ALL MY CHILDREN as Jonathan Lavery.

2007: The Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles was the site of the 34th Daytime Emmy Awards where GUIDING LIGHT and THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS tied for Outstanding Drama Series.  Other winners included Maura West, Christian LeBlanc, Genie Francis, Rick Hearst, Jennifer Landon and Bryton McClure (now James).
