When asked if working on NASHVILLE has affected his musical sensibilities, his answer is clear.
"Oh, yeah, definitely. Working on NASHVILLE and working with T Bone Burnett (the shows Grammy Award winning music producer) has been incredible. On many of the tracks my only job was to be a singer, whereas in a band environment I'm focusing on a lot of things all at the same time. So it's given me time to really focus on that aspect of performing and connecting. We're really looking forward to getting on the road this June, meeting our fans, and connecting with them there."
So now that a full season of NASHVILLE has been on the air, is Jackson more known from NASHVILLE or GENERAL HOSPITAL (where he played Lucky Spencer)?
"I think it depends on where I am," Jackson says. "Around Nashville, in the city, everyone watches the show. So it's kind of like I'm a familiar face to them, like someone they know. It actually reminds me of my early days on GH when there was so much excitement around Luke and Laura's return.'
What about time off?
"I'll have a little time between the end of NASHVILLE shooting and our tour in June," Jackson continues, "So I'm gonna take some time then with my family and finish a couple book projects. But playing music isn't something I think of as a job most of the time, it's an artistic expression that I love."
