On this date in...

1958: Elaine S. Carrington, the radio writer who created PEPPER YOUNG'S FAMILY and other daytime dramas, died at New York Hospital. She was 66.

1964: ANOTHER WORLD debuted on NBC in the 3 p.m. ET time slot. The original characters were Liz, Bill, Jim, Mary, Pat, Alice, Russ, Janet, Granny Matthews; Missy Palmer; and Ken and Tom Baxter. The show ran for 35 years with the final episode airing on June 25, 1999.

1982: On the Season 2 finale of DYNASTY, Cecil suffered a heart attack while making love to Alexis on the night before their wedding.



1987: On DAYS OF OUR LIVES, Kim and Shane were finally married.



1992: On ANOTHER WORLD, Vicky hoped Ryan would call her in Washington.
