  1. That theme song gets stuck in my head every time I hear it.

  2. I didn't find much to like in the new AMC. The younger actors were very amateur and too much of the action was set around Pete Cortlandt, who's basically an entirely new character compared to the last version. The writers and directors need to economize the action more in this 26 minute format and keep things moving.

  3. Such a treat! I'm so thrilled to have AMC back as part of my week-daily schedule! And I'm with you, Roger -- I woke up nonstop throughout my Sunday night and kept glancing at the clock until I couldn't stand it a second longer! Loved seeing Brooke and Adam! And Opal, Angie & Jessie, et al -- I'm looking forward to getting to know all the new faces.

  4. Gregory, I did the same thing. By 4:45 I decided it was time to just get up. But it was worth losing sleep!

  5. I loved loved LOVED the use of exterior/outdoor scenes. A great way to show that Pine Valley is a small town and helps establish the characters and situations to be believable and "real." Great work by director Chris Goutman.

  6. Great first episode. Now, that's exactly what I imaged Pine Valley to look like exterior and interior wise! When Pete Cortlandt drove those roads, that is what the suburbs of Philadelphia, what parts of the Main Line actually look quite similar to. Where Pine Valley is based according to Agnes Nixon. Miranda and AJ look exactly as I'd imagine them, and Miranda looks a bit like a very young Eden Riegel might look. I just wish the show was a bit longer, but I can't have everything. Also, why not put the actor's names instead of characters in the opening?

  8. I was disappointed with the show and all of the newbies. I watched AMC for 20 years and as someone said on a Facebook post - "This didn't feel like All My Children." Obviously, it's the first day of the show in a new medium but I had only watched OLTL for 1 1/2 years due to the cancellation of ATWT. I also saw OLTL first episode online and it was much better. So, it wasn't that it was online that made any difference. It's how it is written and produced - look at the shambles ATWT and GL became at the their ends. Speaking of - would LOVE to have them back online. But, as I said earlier, will still watch AMC for now but there needs to be more integration of the regular characters in better plots.
