Recap of Finola Hughes & Jason Thompson's Appearance on Monday's Episode of WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE

WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE with host Meredith Vieira helped to celebrate the 50th anniversary of ABC’s hit drama GENERAL HOSPITAL by featuring Finola Hughes (Anna Devane) and Jason Thompson (Dr. Patrick Drake) as contestants on today’s episode of the game show!

GH fan favorite Ian Buchanan (Duke Lavery) made a surprise appearance on Monday’s episode of MILLIONAIRE!  He sat in the studio audience alongside GH head writer Ron Carlivati, and helped to cheer on Finola and Jason.

Finola and Jason correctly answered questions 1-10 on Monday’s show and will continue as holdover contestants on Tuesday (4/2).  They will start Tuesday’s show by looking at their $100,000 question with an accumulated Millionaire Bank of $67,600 and two lifelines left (“Jump The Question” and “Ask The Audience”).

If they correctly answer the $100,000 question, they will move on with the game and look at their $250,000 question.  If they answer incorrectly, they will fall back to $25,000 in winnings.  If they choose to walk away from the game and not answer a question, they will be able to keep their entire accumulated Millionaire Bank, which currently stands at $67.600.

Finola and Jason will donate their Millionaire winnings to The Art of Elysium (http://www.theartofelysium.org/), a non-profit organization that works closely with actors, artists and musicians, encouraging them to volunteer their time and talent to children battling serious medical conditions.

FINOLA AND JASON CONTINUE AS HOLDOVER CONTESTANTS ON TUESDAY’S EPISODE OF “MILLIONAIRE”:

Finola and Jason successfully completed the first round of the game on Monday’s show (questions 1-10) and will start the second round of the game (questions 11-14) on Tuesday’s episode where they will start by facing the $100,000 question!

Once a contestant makes it into round #2 of Millionaire (best described as “Classic Millionaire”), they only have four more questions to answer. Unlike the first round of the game, questions in round #2 become progressively more difficult and the monetary value attached to the question is no longer shuffled and hidden. If a contestant decides to not take a guess and walk away from the game in round #2, they are able to take home their entire accumulated Millionaire Bank. If a contestant incorrectly answers a question in round #2, they fall back to $25,000 in winnings.

Finola and Jason will start Tuesday’s show with an accumulated Millionaire Bank of $67,600 and two lifelines left (“Jump The Question” and “Ask The Audience”).

SNEAK PEAK AT FINOLA AND JASON’S $100,000 QUESTION FROM TUESDAY’S EPISODE OF “MILLIONAIRE”:

$100,000 QUESTION:
As seen in a 2011 documentary, funerals in Taiwan often include what unusual feature in order to help mourners cope with their grief?
A: Strippers
B: McDonald's catering
C: Pony rides
D: Free massages

The correct answer is “A,” but you’ll have to tune-in on Tuesday to see if Finola and Jason will be able to correctly answer the question!

If they answer correctly, their Millionaire Bank will rise to $100,000 and they will continue on with the game and look at the $250,000 question.  If they answer incorrectly, they will leave the show with $25,000 in winnings (the minimum amount that they can win, now that they are in round #2 of the game).  If they choose to walk away from the game and not answer a question, they will be able to keep their entire accumulated Millionaire Bank.
