NEWS: Melody Thomas Scott: ''I know how to handle him''; Gloria Loring on her relationships with Don Diamont & Deidre Hall; Josh Duhamel Raves About Jill Larson

THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS star Melody Thomas Scott on working with Eric Braeden: 'I know how to handle him'
"I'm not going to lie and say that being his costar is easy, because it ain't. But it's so worth it. And, hey, I can be pretty ornery, too. After working with the guy for 34 years, I know how to handle him. [Laughs] And, the best part is, he doesn't even know he's being handled!"

DAYS OF OUR LIVES alum Gloria Loring on her relationships with Don Diamont & Deidre Hall
On Don Diamont (ex-Carlos, DAYS; now Bill, THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL: "He was so special because he came into my life at a point where I was feeling quite emotionally fragile even though I was supposedly a star on television. Donald was in my life for 3 ½ years. That time was really precious to me because the biggest thing he did for me, in addition to treating me with such respect, was that he listened to me. I was so used to not being heard in my marriage … my feelings, my everything. All I had to do was actually have an intake of breath, and Donald would ask, 'What do you need?'"

On Deidre Hall (Marlena, DAYS): "There are some funny Deidre stories, but I can’t tell them here. I never saw her temper. She can be very abrupt or let’s just say forthcoming (laughs). Deidre has no filter on what comes out of her mouth (laughs). Think of THE GOLDEN GIRLS and Estelle, the mother, who had no filter on what she said. That’s Deidre! And she’s very funny. It’s hysterical. It’s a little surprising at times, but she’s very funny. But you always know what’s going on with Deidre. You’ve got to give her credit for that. She’s amazing, the career she has built for herself."

Former DAYS star John de Lancie talks about his character Eugene Bradford
He was told his character was a psychopath.

"I looked at the show," he says, "and I knew, while they want a psychopath, what this show needs is a comedian.
"Well, I was quite outrageous," he says. "And I was also very fortunate."

He sensed the executive producer of the show had been the class cut-up, he says, because he liked the comedic direction the actor took, and made the role a permanent one.

"And I ended up having probably the best time I've ever had. Because they simply let me improvise most everything I did," he says. "It was great fun, and we laughed and laughed."

ALL MY CHILDREN alum Jeffrey Carlson recalls his soap days and talks about his new show 'Measure'
Carlson's mom was an ALL MY CHILDREN fan: "She named me after Dr. Jeff Martin; then many years later I wound up on the show!

On his AMC character Zoe/Zarf: "It was fascinating the way it happened. I was asked to do only one day and they called me a month and a half later to write me on the show, then they told me about the transgender role. So I don't think my mom knew about it in that capacity. I had to do a big coming-out transgender story on daytime television."

ALL MY CHILDREN alum Josh Duhamel raves about former co-star Jill Larson
"She is one of my favorite people! Jill is part of the reason that inspired this show that I’m trying to develop. It’s based on my years on ALL MY CHILDREN and the contrast with people of who they are on-screen and who they are in real life. And it goes both ways. Some people are despicable on-screen and then the most genuinely kind people off-screen. Jill is one of those people. She’s just the kindest person ever."

ARROW's Manu Bennett Upped to Series Regular for Season 2
He joins recently promoted Colton Haynes and Emily Bett Rickards on The CW's Stephen Amell starrer.

Former Miss Universe Zuleyka Rivera to Join New Soap Opera

Jeanne Cooper: My favorite YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS episodes
“I was introduced as a dead drunk and went to a beauty salon dragging my fur coat on the floor like Tallulah Bankhead. I dropped my fur coat and said to Jill, ‘would you please pick that up for me.?’ It was all ad lib, but they liked it. My character was drunk for two or three years. It became a good storyline. Everywhere I go, people say, ‘Mrs. Chancellor! Thank you!’ People come up to shake my hand and all of a sudden there is a sobriety chip in my hand. I called AA about this and they said `Jeanne, if your character’s story made them sober and keeps them sober, then yes, keep the chip. Don’t offer it back. That’s their way of saying thank you.’ I did the same thing with cosmetic surgery. People thanked because it gave them the courage.
