Robert Hover Dead at 79

Actor Robert "Bob" Hover died on February 15 at age 79.

A boxer in the Marine Corps, he modeled and was a champion body builder before turning to acting. Hover appeared in many films, television shows, soap operas and commercials during his long career.

His soap roles included Russ Matthews on ANOTHER WORLD, Brian Ellison on AS THE WORLD TURNS, Adrian Shepherd on ALL MY CHILDREN, and Lane Wilton on THE EDGE OF NIGHT.

He later taught acting at John Robert Powers for many years.

He is survived by his two sons, a daughter and five grandsons.

  1. I have always known about this Bob Hover when we saw his name in the credits of an episode of "Cheyenne" from the 1950s. We have the same name. My father is also another Bob Hover (deceased). Plus, my great uncle (deceased) from Amarillo, Texas was STILL another Robert Hover.
