ISA4 Spotlight: HUSTLING

Stars from TV, Broadway and The Web will come together on February 19 at ISA4: the 4th Annual Indie Soap Awards in order to celebrate and honor the very best of the rapidly-growing indie series genre. As we countdown to the big night, We Love Soaps is spotlighting the nominated series and asking producers to tell us their favorite episode of the past year.

We continue this special ISA4 feature today with the HUSTLING, which is nominated this year for seven awards:

BEST WEB SERIES (DRAMA)
BEST ACTRESS (DRAMA) - Jessica Press
BEST ACTOR (DRAMA) - Sebastian La Cause
BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS (DRAMA) - Daphne Rubin-Vega
BEST WRITING (DRAMA) - HUSTLING - Sebastian La Cause
BEST ENSEMBLE (DRAMA)
BEST SOUNDTRACK (ALL SHOWS)

"If I can choose just one and only from 2012 I think I have to go with Episode 4, 'Open Door,' says showrunner and star, Sebastian La Cause, who was named Best Lead Actor (Drama) at last year's ceremony.  "To me, that episode really embodies what the series is about--how we grapple with personal issues and strive for deeper meaning in life and our pursuits. Plus, the supper club sequence, was sort of, my first big grand scene with extras and stuff. So on that level alone it was thrilling in and of itself.

"It was the first time that I really felt, in my gut, how much the show had grown. It's also the episode I think I really started finding my voice as an editor."
