On this date in...1950: Charita Bauer assumed the role of Bert Bauer on THE GUIDING LIGHT radio program (Ann Shepard was the original radio Bert). 1992: On GUIDING LIGHT, Fletcher saved Vanessa before Jack Kiley could rape her.
1992: On THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS, Victor reminisced about Nikki, and a tearful Drucilla returns to ask Madame Chauvin for help.
1993: AS THE WORLD TURNS premiered a new theme song, "Jelinda's Theme" (a.k.a."As the World Turns Theme").
1995: On ALL MY CHILDREN, Hayley thought she recognized James Patrick Stuart's Will.
2010: Frances Reid, best known to soap fans as Alice Horton on DAYS OF OUR LIVES, died at age 95. Reid's other daytime roles included Grace Baker AS THE WORLD TURNS, Rose Pollock on THE EDGE OF NIGHT and Portia Manning on PORTIA FACES LIFE. Reid worked with Corday on ATWT and he brought her to DAYS.
