Actress Sophiya Haque has died at age 41.When her cancer diagnosis was made public after Christmas, her colleagues, friends and fans took to the internet to offer support.
From 2008 to 2009 she played Poppy Morales in CORONATION STREET.
ITV issued a statement on behalf of the soap.
"We are saddened to hear the terrible news of Sophiya's death. She was a vibrant and beautiful actress who was a pleasure to have around during her time on CORONATION STREET. Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this very sad time."
She had been performing on the West End in "Privates on Parade" throughout the fall the fall.
I love Corrie. I am not familiar with her work, but I hope she will R.I.P.
