NEWS ROUNDUP: Frank Valentini On Genie Francis' Return, Shemar Moore Shows Off Six-Pack On ANDERSON; Lifetime Cancels DROP DEAD DIVA

Executive producer Frank Valentini previews the return of Genie Francis to GENERAL HOSPITAL on February 11
“She’s coming back because Port Charles is her home and there were reasons why she was away,” he told AccessHollywood.com at ABC’s bash last Thursday, following the Television Critics Association Winter Session 2013. “I think it’ll be exciting for the audience to discover what those reasons are and to sort of stay with a little bit of the mystery of Laura’s return.”

Asked if Laura’s return could be related to her daughter Lulu, who has fertility issues (and whose best friend, Maxie, just lost the baby she was carrying for Lulu and husband Dante), Valentini said it will.

“It will involve that and other things. And a big secret that she’s going to return with,” he said.

The EP hinted that Laura could be around for a while.

“No, it’s not a guest appearance. We’ve hired her, we’ve absolutely hired her,” he said.

DAYS OF OUR LIVES star Alison Sweeney Blogs: We're All to Blame for Childhood Obesity
"Can you believe approximately 17 percent of American children ages 2 to 19 years are obese? How about this fact: approximately 60 percent of overweight children ages 5 to 10 already have at least one risk factor for heart disease? We are all to blame for this – parents, schools, kids – all of us."

Kelly Ripa uses fat-shaming diss as fitness motivation
Ripa has an enviably toned bikini body, thanks to rigorous daily workouts and a mostly vegetarian diet. Surprisingly, Ripa received a barrage of nasty fan letters during her 12-year stint on the soap opera, ALL MY CHILDREN, which she used to propel herself into the best shape of her life.

Kelly revealed to Elle magazine that she keeps one of the notes framed on her dressing room wall at her talk show, "Live! With Kelly and Michael." The note reads, "Eat a carrot, you fat bastard." Ripa was pregnant at the time, and her pregnancy had not been written into her character's storyline.

Why does Ripa keep the note around? "I feel like as long as you take ownership over your own flaws, it doesn’t hurt if someone else points them out," she explains.
