Is TWIN PEAKS Coming Back? No, Per Creator Mark Frost

A new article on blastr suggest David Lynch may be secretly bringing back his cult primetime soap TWIN PEAKS.
But now rumors are circulating that Lynch and Frost could be bringing the show back. Frost told SciFi Now (via Moviehole) in a recent interview that a revival of the show was "something we talk about from time to time," adding that there's a "rich trove to draw from" should they go ahead with it.

But the more substantial chatter is coming as a result of recent reports that Lynch has been taking meetings with NBC, possibly about creating a third season of Twin Peaks for that network (which, by the way, is part of the same company that owns Blastr, in the interest of full disclosure).

Here's where it gets a little vague, though, because some Twitter chatter suggests that the show would take place a short time after the events of the second season, with the Cooper/BOB scenario still playing out, while other reports say that the show would take place 25 years after the original, although it would resolve the plot threads from back then.
The original series ran from April 8, 1990 to June 10, 1991, and starred Kyle MacLachlan, Michael Ontkean, Mädchen Amick, Dana Ashbrook, Richard Beymer, Lara Flynn Boyle, Joan Chen, Eric Da Re, Sherilyn Fenn, Warren Frost, Harry Goaz, Michael Horse, Piper Laurie, Sheryl Lee, Peggy Lipton, James Marshall, Everett McGill, Jack Nance, Kimmy Robertson, Russ Tamblyn, Kenneth Welsh and Ray Wise.

Would you welcome a TWIN PEAKS return?

UPDATE:
Co-creator Mark Frost has spoken up to push the rumor way back from reality — the reality being that TWIN PEAKS is still dead and likely to stay that way.

Frost tweeted once the rumor started spreading:
And if that isn’t clear enough, Jace Lacob of the Daily Beast (via Movieline) says he’s emailed with Frost, who denies any talks with NBC:
While Frost did say recently that “[A third season is] something we talk about from time to time… If we ever do decide to move forward, I know we have a rich trove to draw from,” it may have been little more than idle talk.

  1. If true that would be interesting to see since
    Twin Peaks was ages ago

  2. I remember being in college and a group of us watched every Saturday night. The interest faded pretty quickly. But it was so along ago the show could be just about anything now and try to capitalize on the brand that's been built over the years. I wonder if TP would have had more longevity in today's market with Netflix, DVDs, etc.

  3. I'd be more excited over this than i would be a One Life to Live return! I would so be dancing in the streets (in slo-mo and with a dwarf) if this happened!

  4. If this happens it should be a closed-end story. 10 or 13 episodes at the most. It would be great to see Joan Chen, Sherilyn Fenn, Piper Laurie, Sheryl Lee and Peggy Lipton again.
