On this date in...

1958: GENERAL HOSPITAL's Shell Kepler, who played Amy Vining, was born. She died in 2008 at age 49.

1964: THE YOUNG MARRIEDS premiered on ABC. The show was created by James Elward and written by Elward with Frances Rickett.  Among its cast were future DAYS OF OUR LIVES actors Peggy McCay, Brenda Benet and Susan Seaforth Hayes. The series finale aired on March 25, 1966. Watch an episode from 1965 below.



1979:  Two important recasts debuted in the episode of DALLAS titled “The Silent Killer:” Keenan Wynn succeeded David Wayne as Digger Barnes and Mary Crosby replaced Colleen Camp as Kristin Shepard.

1984:The 875th and final episode of ANOTHER LIFE aired on CBN.  The show, created by Roy Winsor and Bob Aaron, debuted in 1981.





1986: Alison Sweeney guest-starred as Karen on an episode of TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE titled "I Can't Help Saying Goodbye."

1992: On DAYS OF OUR LIVES, Carrie threw a party for Billie.



2000: GILMORE GIRLS premiered on the WB network.

  2. Loved Peter Brown. He was so good on Days as Greg Peters. One of my early heartthrobs, long before I understood what it meant.

    I've always thought that if Texas had cast Peter in the Alex Wheeler part (instead of Bert Kramer) opposite Beverlee McKinsey, that the character would have worked. As it was Alex Wheeler was killed off a year into the show. A missed opportunity.

    Incidentally, Peter also played Roger Forbes on Loving 1983-1984.
