Ronn Moss Leaving THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL

Ronn Moss, an original cast member of THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL in 1987 who has played the role of Ridge Forrester ever since, has decided to leave the soap, according to a report by EW.com.

Insiders have said Moss elected not to renew his contract over salary issues.

Production company Bell Phillip Television confirmed the exit. “Ronn has spent an amazing 25 years with B&B,” a rep for Bell Phillip said in a statement. “We will always consider him family, and we wish him only the best in all of his future endeavors.”

Three other original actors are still on the show--Susan Flannery as Stephanie Forrester, John McCook as Eric Forrester, and Katherine Kelly Lang as Brooke Logan Forrester.

Ridge and Brooke were recently named to our 50 Greatest Soap Couples of All-Time list.

Moss will shoot his final scenes for THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL this Tuesday, August 14, and his last episode will air sometime in September.

It is hard to imagine Moss will be gone from B&B for long. What do you want to happen with the character of Ridge now?

  1. I don't imagine Ridge will be gone for long either. However, it actually might give Brooke & Taylor some NEW story lines.

  2. I will miss Ridge but Taylor can follow him off into the sunset for all I care. Juvinile storylines. Get a life people. You all act like grade school kids. Especially Liam. He must just like kissing. He can't resist any female that even looks at him crosseyed. Steffy is showing herself as hard up for male companionship, and Hope is crazy to think life is all that perfect. Get over yourselves people. Move on with or without the men. Oh and I do want to say I love men, I just get sick of how these people think there is only two men on this particular show.

  3. Never been a big fan of Ridge, but he has had longevity. You just think of him as part of the fabric of the show.

I find it surprising the show couldn't persuade him to at least do a six-month extension on his contract so he would make it to the show's 25th anniversary.

Not like there's any other show chomping at the bit to add Ronn to its cast. Whatever they're paying him, its more than he would be getting not working.

Or maybe this is some publicity ploy and Ridge will turn up alive just in time for the 25th.

  4. I wonder if they'll just send Ridge out of town for a bit or just say he's around but we're not seeing him. If it was going to happen though, now is a good time because they have firmly established the next generation.

James, B&B celebrated 25 years this past March. Damon l. Jacobs from We Love Soaps went to the set and to their anniversary party and did quite a few interviews.

  5. This is what happens when the original leading man, get sidelined for too long in favor of a younger, dumber version.

  6. Sorry, but I think it's a good thing for the show. They've made Liam the new Ridge anyway - a block of wood fought over by two women.

My only hope is that this opens up the return of Felicia as played by Lesli Kay. B&B needs its Forresters!

  7. I used to like watching B&B, but this new crop of writing is absolutely atrocious. Hope managed to forgive Brooke for shagging Oliver, but thinks Liam should be sent to the gallows for an honest error involving a fake Dear Jane letter, to the woman he really should be married to? These writers need to seriously GROW UP!

  8. I won't miss Ronn. He's a terrible actor. Maybe now they'll give a story line to John McCook, my favorite.
