mun2's U.S. Premiere of OJO POR OJO Delivers Best Telenovela Premiere in Network's History Among Adults 18-49

mun2’s U.S. television premiere of Telemundo Studios’ telenovela OJO POR OJO (Eye for an Eye) set record ratings, scoring the best premiere for any telenovela in network history among adults 18-49 (101,000), according to Nielsen. During its May 21stpremiere, mun2 delivered 137,000 total viewers, and 58,000 YLAs (Young Latino Americans aged 18-34), making  OJO POR OJO  the #1 show at 11pm ET across all Hispanic cable networks.

The 98-episode telenovela presents a modern Romeo and Juliet story between two young lovers Arcangel Barragan (Gonzalo Garcia Vivanco: Soy Tu Fan, Relaciones Peligrosas) and Nadia Monsalve (Carmen Villalobos:Sin Senos No Hay Paraiso) whose rival families condemn each other to an uncontrollable cycle of death. The top Latin cast also includes Gaby Espino (Mas Sabe el Diablo), and Miguel Varoni (Mas Sabe el Diablo, La Casa de al Lado), and is presented to U.S. audiences with English subtitles. Ojo Por Ojo airs Mondays–Thursdays at 11pm ET.

Episode 2 airs Tuesday May 22 at 11pm ET/PT:

The Monsalve and Barragan families confront each other when Frepe (Juan Carlos Vargas) begins to fire against the Barragans. Arcangel promises to protect Nadia until the end and helps her evade the bullets, making Nadia’s family suspect they are hiding something. Will they admit to their love when they are confronted by their infuriated families?

Episode 3 airs Wednesday May 23 at 11pm ET/PT:

The war continues as Nadia asks Manny’s wife and Nando’s ex-love Alina (Gaby Espino) for help, informing her that Manny (Gregorio Pernia) is planning on going to the cemetery to surprise and kill the entire Barragan family. As the shootout intensifies, Nando fires away, but fears he might have accidentally wounded his son Arcangel.

Episode 4 airs Thursday May 24 at 11pm ET/PT:

As wounded Arcangel is brought to a doctor’s house, Nadia fears she has lost her love and takes action. The Barragan’s arrive at a bar where the Monsalves’ siblings await them.
