Jennifer Landon Joins THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS; Won Three Emmys For Work On AS THE WORLD TURNS

Jennifer Landon has best cast in the role of Heather Stevens on THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS, according to TV Guide Magazine.

Landon previously played Gwen Norbeck (and look-a-like Cleo for a while) on AS THE WORLD TURNS and won three consecutive Emmys.

Y&R's Heather was most recently played by Eden Riegel and Vail Bloom.

Landon begins shooting the soap May 2 and hits the air June 7.

What do you think? Was this a good choice? Or was the character even needed on an already crowded canvas? Let us know your thoughts.

I don't see why the show needs another lawyer.

I like Landon but do we need Heater again?

You never know when an actor is going to work out on a soap, but it sure seems like shows use casting, recasting, hiring/firing, and the never-ending process of writing someone in and someone out as the replacement for real stories these days.

I have to agree Roger there is more drama in the casting than in the story telling. I think Jennifer is great but I question if Heather was a good choice. I worry that they are taking a strong actress like they did Maura West and putting her in the wrong role and likely without much of a plan. I hope it isn't more good talent wasted.

I think the main issue is that the Y&R cast is already on overload. I think I counted 33 contract cast members in the credits today, with Noah, Fen and Summer coming soon.

I love Jennifer Landon very much; she's very nice & super sweet, but I do agree that Heather Stevens is simply not needed right now on Y&R. The show works out best by using the long-term people they've got right now!

If they're not careful, the budget will grow too big to handle and then CBS will end up dropping the soap all together!!! Just like AMC, OLTL, ATWT, and GL!!!
