Wednesday Night Ratings: Series Low For REVENGE Return, But ABC Calls It 'Definitive First-Place Finish'

The Wednesday night Nielsen ratings are in. Below is a roundup of April 18 ratings reports:

From TVByTheNumbers.com:
REVENGE earned a series/season low for a regular episode 2.3 adults 18-49 rating, down a tenth vs. a 2.4 rating in its last new episode in early March. REVENGE had 7.583 million total viewers in the overnight numbers.

From THR.com:
REVENGE topped its timeslot, dipping just a tenth of a point from its last original for a 2.3 with adults 18-49.

From EW.com:
Picking up after seven weeks off the air, REVENGE (7.6 million viewers, 2.3 adults 18-49 rating) was down 4 percent — which isn’t bad considering some of the dramatic ratings drops we’ve seen on other shows over the past couple months, particularly those that had the audacity to take a multi-week breather. REVENGE won 10 p.m., though CSI was a repeat.

From ABC:
REVENGE (10:00-11:00 p.m.)
During the 10 o'clock hour, returning to original for its first time in nearly 2 months (since 2/29/12), ABC's REVENGE came back with a definitive first-place finish among Total Viewers, Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54. In fact, ABC's REVENGE towered over NBC's original LAW & ORDER: SVU in Total Viewers (+33% - 7.6 million vs. 5.7 million), Adults 18-49 (+53% - 2.3/6 vs. 1.5/4) and Adults 25-54 (+45% - 2.9/7 vs. 2.0/5).

* The ABC freshman drama generated big year-to-year time-period gains in Total Viewers (+81%), Adults 18-49 (+35%) and Adults 25-54 (+38%), rising sharply over first-run programming on the same night last year.

* Topping its last original, REVENGE attracted ABC's largest audience to the hour since the middle of the February Sweep - since 2/15/12.
