SPECIAL EVENT: Meet Mark Dobies (GUIDING LIGHT, OLTL, "The Normal Heart" ) at Love Out Loud on May 16

Mark Dobies on the cover of Men's Health
Athlete and actor Mark Dobies is one of those rare men who is just about as comfortable in a triathlon or on the gridiron as he is on the Broadway stage. Daytime fans will probably know him best from his characters on GUIDING LIGHT and ONE LIFE TO LIVE, but he's also appeared in prime time series like GOSSIP GIRL, FRINGE and CSI: MIAMI. It's his theater experience, however, that resonates so strongly with the mission of Love Out Loud.

In 2004, Mark took on the role of Bruce Niles, a gay bank VP, in Larry Kramer's The Normal Heart on Broadway. He says that being a member of the cast was an intense experience, as the revival of the landmark play, detailing the AIDS crisis in the early eighties, was as gruelling as it was rewarding. "We had to deal with death every night for three hours. It was however, one of the greatest learning experiences of my life," he says.

We Love Soaps is proud to announce that Mark is now scheduled to appear once again this year at Love Out Loud VII on May 16, 2012. Love Out Loud is an annual event sponsored by We Love Soaps and Poz magazine. It's an AIDS Walk NY fundraiser: the hosts, the sponsors, and (this is truly wonderful) the celebrities are all donating their time to the cause! All of the money raised goes directly to the AIDS Walk.

With Hillary B. Smith on ONE LIFE TO LIVE
- Love Out Loud VII just may be New York's best opportunity to meet and mingle with big names from Television and Broadway.
- Dozens of famous personalities from iconic shows will gather together at the legendary Prohibition lounge, at 503 Columbus Avenue (at 84th Street), for the express purpose of interacting with fans in a casual and festive environment.
- Doors open at 5:30 PM, and we won't wind down until around 9:00.
- Admission to the event is our "thank you" for an advance donation of $42.50 (or more) to one of the walkers on our AIDS Walk New York team (or a $50.00 donation at the door): please donate today to one of our team members at http://welovesoa.ps/LOLdonor!

If you have any questions about this unique charity event, if you would like to walk with We Love Soaps, or if you have any suggestions on how we can make the We Love Soaps team the #1 AIDS Walk team in all of New York City, please do not hesitate to email us! We look forward to hearing from you.

On Broadway (seated) in The Normal Heart
And of course, Mark Dobies is just one of many TV and Broadway stars scheduled to participate in Love Out Loud VII. We've already announced David A. Gregory, Ilene Kristen and Colleen Zenk, and we'll continue to announce another fan favorite every few days. So, please visit http://welovesoa.ps/LOLdonor right away to donate directly to one of the walkers on the We Love Soaps AIDS Walk NY team. Every tax-deductible, advance, online donation of at least $42.50 admits one person to Love Out Loud VII on Wednesday, May 16, 2012. A donation of $85.00 (or more) means you can bring a friend; and so on. Table seating is included, and it should be noted that at Prohibition there is a two-drink minimum per person.

  2. I met Mark at a fun OLTL meet-&-greet in Chicago this past January. He's not only very talented, physically fit & extremely cute (he's 53--wow! :-)), he's also very articulate, super-witty, & very sweet natured. What A Super-Nice Guy He Is!
