NOMINATIONS: 43rd Annual NAACP Image Awards

The nominees for THE 43RD NAACP IMAGE AWARDS were announced today during a live press conference from the Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills, CA. Vanessa Williams, Tracee Ellis Ross and Craig Robinson announced the categories and nominees. GREY'S ANATOMY and THE GAME picked up six nominations each in the TV categories. The film The Help garnered the most noms overall with eight. THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS received five.

The NAACP Image Awards celebrates the accomplishments of people of color in the
fields of television, music, literature and film and also honors individuals or groups who promote social justice through creative endeavors. Winners will be announced during the two-­‐hour star-­‐studded event, which will air live on Friday, February 17 (8:00-­‐10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-­‐delayed) on NBC.

  1. Where are the OLTL actors? I can't imagine that none of them were eligible.

  2. I've never understood the nomination process. You must have to submit yourself because they overlook Darnell Williams a lot and this year Debbi Morgan too. And it's usually mostly Y&R. But glad they are still recognizing daytime. Hope they add some new media/web series categories.
