THE Online Network: Ron Carlivati Stays With ONE LIFE TO LIVE; Archer, Missal, Trishcitta, VerDorn Sign On
THE Online Network (TOLN) put out a new press release on Friday with more good news for ONE LIFE TO LIVE fans. Below is a statement from "Prospect Park":
NEWS ROUNDUP SPECIAL: National Print Media Wouldn't Wrap Fish in THE CHEW; Ratings Tumbling
It's been more than three days, and it's not just ALL MY CHILDREN aficionados who are saying that THE CHEW doesn't pass the smell test. Many major print outlets have reported on the show's debut this week. Here's a sampling of what they had to say, with links to the originals from TV Guide, Newsday, The Huffington Post, The New York Daily News, The Chicago Sun-Times, and Esquire.TV Guide
In this culinary knockoff of The View, What Not to Wear's Clinton Kelly seemed uncomfortably shoehorned into the Whoopi Goldberg sassy-moderator role. And in case you missed the fact that "health and wellness expert" Daphne Oz is Dr. Oz's daughter the first ten times they mentioned it, the good doctor himself showed up for a "surprise" cameo to declare how proud he is of his newly little girl (she lost 25 pounds, and her weight-loss secrets were also crammed down viewers' throats).

OPINION: REVENGE Week 2 is SOAPTASTIC!
The second outing of REVENGE did not disappoint. This show should leave every fan of soap operas squealing with delight, but nothing so much as the epic stare downs that Victoria and Emily inflict upon one another. They don't even try to hide the death glares they are hurling at each other but relish in allowing them to last just a few seconds too long .

OPINION: Formula 90210
This season the 90 crew is in college. All parents and adults have been completely vanquished from the series. Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord) has bought a multi million dollar mansion while Navid (Michael Steger) and Silver (Jessica Stroup) share a tiny studio with Navid’s brat of a little sister. Last week Naomi was screwed out of getting into California University’s best sorority by Holly (Megalyn Echikunwoke), the beautiful, super bitch sorority president who hates Naomi for a wide variety of offenses but mostly because the sorority tried to purchase the mansion Naomi moved into before she unknowingly outbid them.

OPINION: HART OF DIXIE PREMIERE - Rachel Bilson is delightfully appealing!
Rachel Bilson as Zoe Hart + a warm-hearted feel good drama set in a small town with colorful characters + hunky guys to be the object of Zoe Hart’s affections should have been old school WB GOLD. It wasn't, but all hope isn't lost for HART OF DIXIE. Using voice over to establish Zoe’s pre-Bluebell, Alabama life was fine, but once her cardiothorasic fellowship dreams were dashed the narration should have disappeared as we followed her to Bluebell. I didn't need to know every last thought that was going through Zoe's head.

OPINION: GOSSIP GIRL Season 5 Premiere: Welcome Back Upper Eastsiders
Welcome back Uppereastsiders… except we aren’t on the upper east side just yet. We join our favorite New York City troublemakers wrapping up their summers somewhere other then New York. Serena, Nate, and Chuck are soaking up the sun in LA while Blair and Louis return to New York after a summer in Monaco. Dan was in the Hamptons. The rule is that Dan's summer has to be at least ten times less exciting than any other character on the show(and that includes Eric and Jenny who are thankfully firmly entrenched off screen in London hopefully never to be heard from again)
Brace yourself for what I’m about to say because it may be an unpopular opinion:

PREVIEW: Fox's Tuesday Night Soap GLEE (What's The Capital Of Ohio?)
An all-new episode of GLEE, “I Am Unicorn,” airs Tuesday, September 27 (8:00-9:00 p.m.ET/PT) on FOX.Much to his dismay, Will discovers that (thanks to a private donation) former Vocal Adrenaline coach Shelby Corcoran has been hired to direct a second show-choir group at McKinley; while both Will and Shelby seem good natured about their impending competition, several of the students are less than thrilled about her return to Lima.
DANCING WITH THE STARS: ALL MY CHILDREN's J.R. Martinez Does The Jive
Until last week, J.R. Martinez was known in the soap world but possibly one of the least-known "stars" in the DANCING WITH THE STARS cast. But based on enthusiastic ballroom and online reaction, he is now a fan favorite. DWTS producers capitalized on that enthusiasm, saving J.R. and partner Karina Smirnoff’s jive for the end of the show.
How did they do during the actual performance?
SPOILERS: Damian McGinty Talks About His New Role On GLEE, Debuts Nov. 1
We predicted his win in August and now, after much anticipation, THE GLEE PROJECT co-champion Damian McGinty has revealed some details about his GLEE debut. Rivalries and hi-jinx arise when McGinty’s character, Irish foreign exchange student, Rory Flanagan, arrives at McKinley High.In an interview with TVGuide.com, McGinty explains how a rivalry may be brewing between his character and Kurt [Chirs Colfer]. “He does a falsetto in his first song,” said McGinty of his character Rory, “and Kurt did not like that because Kurt’s the soprano of the group and doesn’t want that taken from him.”

OPINION: E!'s DIRTY SOAP Has Dirty, Soapy Potential, Especially Jenna Gering, Farah Fath, Kelly Monaco & Kirsten Storms
As a hardcore soap opera fan, I found DIRTY SOAP to be a riveting look into the lives of soap stars. However, I do wonder if it could hook a viewer who doesn't already "Love Soaps"?I'm a long time GENERAL HOSPITAL guy, so I was thrilled that Kelly Monaco (Sam, GH) and Kirsten Storms (Maxie, GH) were front and center. Kelly seemed like the kind of rough and tumble girl I'd like to party with, and Kirsten seemed to have an interesting edge to her that she was trying to hide.

OPINION: DAYS OF OUR LIVES Reboot Day One - Does It Get The Boot?
Today marks an exciting day in soap opera history. A long running continuing story is officially "rebooting" their show in order to gain back their lapsed audience, appeal to long-term loyal fans, begin new stories, and boost ratings. Will it work? Based on today's episode, I'd say they have a great chance.
If the first twenty minutes are any indication, DAYS has committed itself to focusing on beloved veterans. Doug, Julie, Bo, Hope, Victor, Maggie, Adrienne, Justin, Sami and Jennifer, as well as a special dedication to Tom and Alice Horton, were featured front and center (where were Abe and Lexie? We'll get to that in a moment). The unveiling of the new Horton town square was gorgeous, and special kudos go to the hardworking crew who labored day and night to create this stunning vision (on a limited budget). The writing was impeccable, with nods to the Horton legacy, while containing such snappy one liners such as "E.J. dates? I thought he only married women or held them prisoner."
