PREVIEW: ABC's Thursday Night Soap PRIVATE PRACTICE (2 Hours)

In a first for both the television series and for the artist, PRIVATE PRACTICE will solely and exclusively feature songs from the legendary Mary J. Blige and her upcoming album, "My Life II...The Journey Continues (Act 1)," during PRIVATE PRACTICE: The Intervention, a two-hour television event airing Thursday, November 17 (9:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. Music and special features will be available on ABC Music Lounge (http://abc.go.com/music-lounge).

"I am thrilled to have my music on PRIVATE PRACTICE," says Blige, "...especially in these two episodes which are dealing with such important issues."

In the first hour or a special two-hour edition of ABC's PRIVATE PRACTICE, Thursday 17 (9:00-11:00 p.m., ET) -- entitled "Who We Are" -- the Seaside Wellness group stages an intervention for a defensive and volatile Amelia, who has resurfaced after disappearing on a 12-day drug binge with her boyfriend, Ryan. During the intervention, Amelia mercilessly attacks her friends one-by-one, and Addison, in particular, has trouble seeing her sister-in-law in her present condition.

In the second hour, entitled "The Breaking Point," Amelia makes the hard decision to enter a rehab facility, and finds strength in an 18 year-old girl, as they both go through the painful detox process. Meanwhile, Cooper's strengthening bond with his son is tested by his allegiance to a patient in need, Pete and Violet's marriage reaches a tipping point, and Addison collapses from her rigorous fertility treatments.

PRIVATE PRACTICE stars Kate Walsh as Dr. Addison Forbes Montgomery, Tim Daly as Dr. Pete Wilder, Benjamin Bratt as Jake Reilly, KaDee Strickland as Dr. Charlotte King, Paul Adelstein as Dr. Cooper Freedman, Brian Benben as Dr. Sheldon Wallace and Caterina Scorsone as Dr. Amelia Shepherd, with Taye Diggs as Dr. Sam Bennett and Amy Brenneman as Dr. Violet Turner.

"Who We Are" was written by Shonda Rhimes and directed by Mark Tinker.

"The Breaking Point" was written by Christopher Fife and directed by Jeff Bleckner.
