SOAPnet Schedule Shuffle: RYAN'S HOPE Gone, BROTHERS & SISTERS Added, "Classic" AMC, OLTL, GH From 2006

SOAPnet's schedule gets a makeover starting September 26. That's the day the RYAN'S HOPE reruns and the last of the new ALL MY CHILDREN episodes will air. The final AMC marathon ending with the September 23 ABC finale will air from 12-5 a.m. ET. The final RYAN'S HOPE episodes (from 1977) will air from 5-6 a.m. that morning.

ABC primetime soap BROTHERS & SISTERS joins the lineup that afternoon airing from 5-7 p.m. weekdays. Same day DAYS OF OUR LIVES moves to 8 p.m.

"Classic" ABC daytime episodes will air overnight but those start in October 2006 so your happiness with that will depend on what you consider classic.

Here is the new SOAPnet schedule starting Monday, Sept 26:

YOUNG AND RESTLESS - 7 p.m. 11 p.m. & 10 a.m.

  1. I am very disappointed that Ryan's Hope is being taken off of Soapnet.

  2. I am so disappointed in ABC and the many changes they are making. I will continue to watch ABC and Soapnet, but when my soaps are completely off of ABC, I will not be watching ABC, I certainly will not watch the CHEW, I will have to say S*C*R*E W* the Chew and Brian Frons.
F*U* ABC and your little DOG too !!!

  3. CLASSIC HELL ....2006 is not classic. So we fans can watch Guza, Higley, and McTrashy and watching them destroy our soaps. Why not true show classics episodes from the late 1970s, because this would remind Frons just how good soaps were and how bad of VP of daytime currently has and all horrible decision making over the last decade.

  4. Argh, every time I start watching Ryan's Hope, the geniuses at SoapNet take it off. What, is there not enough room for the Beverly Hills 90210 and One Tree Hill repeats that take up most of the day?

    ReplyDelete
  5. Classic from 2006? That isn't classic that is the beginning of the end! They have shown the same OC, OTH, and BH90210 eps a million times and ignore true classics like DYN, KNOTS, FC.

    ReplyDelete
  6. When is Soapnet leaving? I remember reading that Soapnet was going to be another Disney Channel. I guess Frons hates all things good. Of course when they started screwing around with the Soap Marathons and putting B movies and lousy TV shows on in primetime viewing instead of the soaps, Frons and the PTB S*C*R*E*W*E*D* the SOAP fan a little more!

    ReplyDelete
  7. I happen to Love Ryan's Hope and the Other Soap Opera's on Soapnet. What is wrong with the PTB???? They have to keep disappointing the viewer over and over again.
And who in their right mind thinks 2006 soaps are classic???? I will say that 2006 is the beginning of the end for AMC, the writers that wrote AMC into the ground. Way to go Frons !!!! Idiot at best is all I can say. I would love to see Classic AMC and even OLTL, but 2006is current and not classic....

  8. As a Soap fan, I knew the beginning of the end was coming when ABC/ DISNEY stopped have the SUPER SOAP WEEKENDS in Orlando Florida in November of every year. This was a huge money maker for DISNEY, so I do not understand why they would stop this, except they planned all along to cancel the soaps. Brian Frons and the Others at ABC/ DISNEY that are responsible for this, I hope each one of you get the ULTIMATE *S*C*R*E*W*, F*** U* ALL!

WHY DOES FRONS STILL HAVE A JOB??? CAN ANYONE ANSWER ME THAT ONE????

  9. How is 2006 classic? Seriously. I started watching in late 2007. Do I really just wanna see stuff a year before I started watching. Heck no. But, does anyone remember when Tad killed Madden on AMC. Was that late or mid 2006. Cause, that I do wanna see.

  10. I am very disappointed to see you are moving the Young and the Restless to different time slots. I realize it is on 3 times a day, but the only times I could possibly catch it are early morning 4 - 7am when getting me and kids ready for work/school. We are just not home or awake the rest of the time. If you decide to bring it back to early morning, I may start watching again, otherwise, I am done with Soapnet.

  11. Thank you for taking off Ryan's Hope All My Children and soon One Life to Live. This gives me time to do other things.
I started watching Ryan's Hope in college and didn't see it after the first year because i was working. When I retired I found it on Soapnet and was able to see what I missed until they rewound it a few months ago. I thought I'd be able to see it thru til the end but the magic of television executives have destroyed the story again.
The generations who have watched these shows have been greatly disrespected.
Mr. Frons & Co may think Soaps are silly and out of a different time, but they are a cultural commonality that spanned age, race, religion, gender, sexual orientation.. those reading this get the picture, ABC doesn't. I would say 'sham on them' but they are too arrogant to understand.

  12. thumbs down for taking away ryans hope that was the only reason i watched soapnet and then it got me to keep on watching young and restless and days of our lives which i had never watched unless they bring back 70-80s shows i will quit watching soapnet

  13. With this being the end of Ryan's Hope, this is the end of my watching Soapnet.

  15. I loved watching Ryan's Hope. I'll miss it a lot. But you know what? There is great programming other than SoapNet. So when you decide to drop another show that so many of us adored, it won't bother us because we're no longer wasting time on Soap net. Oh---and that Dirty Soap thing? Total waste of time. Hopefully Ryan's Hope will return soon, otherwise, I'm looking into replacing SoapNet with something I'll actually watch.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I can't believe they took Ryan's Hope off of SOAPnet. I can guarantee you, I will boycott any products sold during their airtime of 5:00 - 6:00am timeslot. And no I won't be watching the replacement programs. Now I'm GLAD SOAPnet is going off the air. With decisions like this it's no wonder.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Taking Ryan's Hope off the SOAPNET schedule was a very bad move; I was an avid watcher of a show that had really good acting, not just a bunch of models standing around trying to upstage each other!

    ReplyDelete
  18. First ABC dumps AMC. Now I wake up to no Ryan's Hope? I'm done with Soap Net. Obviously what I want to watch isn't important to any corporation. I believe they think I will just watch whatever they broadcast...think again, I'm gone.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Removing AMC and OLTL from ABC is a mistake that Mr. Frons will live to regret. When the CHEW bombs (which it will) the network will see their error and cancel him

    ReplyDelete
  20. Yeah. . . 2006 is not classic. The 1970's and 1980's are classic. But 2006 - nope.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Very disappointed that Soapnet has cancelled Ryan's Hope. This was by far the best show on this network. Please bring it back. I didn't care about getting up early to watch it. One of my favorite old shows!!!

    ReplyDelete
  22. I am very disappointed in the change of General Hospital times I will be leaving soap net sooner than expected. Thanks alot

    ReplyDelete
  23. I can't believe they just restarted Ryan's Hope from the beginning in November and now they want to take it off the air. Itw as one of the few shows worth watching on Soapnet and now they have nothing I want to see. I was looking forward to cathing this entire show from the very beginning and now I got nothing!!!

    ReplyDelete
  24. That was cold. There's nothing to watch on Soapnet anymore. I'm washing my hands on it.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Bring Ryan's Hope back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Ryan's Hope gone??? This is totally ridiculous. Just when I finally get to see it from the beginning, it gets cut. Shame on you Soapnet. You could have at least warned us what was happening instead of having us run around trying to figure out was something wrong with the DVR. Well goodbye soapnet.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I agree with the other posts. Just when I started getting hooked on Ryan's Hope again, even to the point of adding it to my DVR list, it just disappeared.
    What a huge disappointment!!

    ReplyDelete
  28. SOAPnet.com has made a terrible mistake by taking "Ryan's Hope" off! I hope the execs will listen to the viewers and bring it back!! ABC also has made a huge mistake by canceling "All My Children!" The viewers will be either changing the channel, reading, or doing something else! I agree to "screw" the "Chew" and/or ABC!! I hope SOAPnet and ABC wake up and listen to what the viewers are requesting!!

    ReplyDelete
  29. I would buy all of the episodes of Ryan's Hope it if was on DVD . Dark Shadows was put out there to obtain...I have not seen the entire Ryan's Hope episodes yet. When I saw it was on Soap Net, I saw the second half and when it started over I was looking forward to seeing the entire show. Could it be put on DVD so that I can see it all??????

    ReplyDelete
  30. I cant believe that Ryans Hope was cancelled. It was cancelled a few years back and I was so thrilled that it was on again and enjoyed watching it--I can't believe they left us hanging again

    ReplyDelete
  31. We want Ryans Hope Back..................................................................................................................................................................PLEASE............................

  32. WHO WAS THE GENIOUS WHO TOOK OFF RYAN'S HOPE. IT IS IN THE EARLY MORNING WHEN ONLY THE RYAN'S HOPE LOVERS WOULD WATCH IT. I ONLY WATCHED SOAPNET FOR RYAN'S HOPE SO NOW I WILL NOT BE WATCHING AT ALL.

    SHAME ON YOU

    ReplyDelete
  33. You guys don't get it. The Disney men don't care if we boycott soapnet, they're destroying it next year. They also don't care about daytime. The fall schedule with Oz in the afternoon is another example of management's bulb being a bit dim.

    ReplyDelete
  34. no more soap net for me ryans hope was the best

    ReplyDelete
  35. I hate that Ryan's Hope is no longer being shown on Soapnet! Very disappointing. :-(

    ReplyDelete
  36. I watched Ryan's Hope in the late 70's & 80's so I was enjoying watching the earlier episodes. I've been watching it for the past 3 years but I guess I am done with SOAPnet now. BOOOO to whoever made this decision!!

    ReplyDelete
  37. We live in such challenging times, it was so nice to take an hour and step back in time to the 1970's with Ryan's Hope. Please bring it back!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Please bring Ryan's Hope back.
    I tivo it every day.
It is a most socially relevant story and engaging even today

    ReplyDelete
  39. Yes! I agree - Please bring it back, what a sudden way to end a show, I could not believe I was watching the last episode on Monday. 5-6 a.m. the best time to show it.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Every morning I would set my alarm just to settle down with a cup of coffee and reminisce of simpler times with ryans hope. I especially liked the recent christmas episode. The manger, the tree with hand made ornaments and I believe even a paper chain. Good old fashioned values. Now its off to work without that morning fix. No warning...just gone. I am going through withdrawl. Please bring it back.

    ReplyDelete
  41. No more Ryan's Hope. No more Soap Net for me.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Boooo to you Soap Net for Taking Ryans Hope away! I loved watching that show all over again as I did when I was a teenager! Very disappointed! PLEASE bring it back where we left off!

    ReplyDelete
  43. WHAT THE HELL???? I was hoping to see Ryan's Hope for at least a few more months. What is wrong with ABC? Taking our soaps off the air and putting on the low budget replacements like The Talk and The Chew is insulting. What is ABC thinking? We don't need more talk/reality garbage on TV. When your audience is gone, maybe you will realize you made a huge mistake. Then it will be too late. Thanks for the MEMORIES!!!

    ReplyDelete
  44. PLEASE PUT RYAN'S HOPE BACK ON! I certainly second all the comments about taking Ryan's Hope off the air. It was sad enough that we only had a few more months to see RH on SOAPnet, but now it is gone too soon. Without RH, I certainly will NOT be watching SOAPnet again!!!

    ReplyDelete
  45. I cannot BELIEVE that SOAPnet has taken Ryan's Hope off the air. PLEASE reconsider!!

    ReplyDelete
  46. WHY WHY WHY did you cancel ryan's hope??? there is nothing like it anywhere else. This is the second time I'm aware of that you've done this to your viewers & it's AWFUL BEHAVIOR.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Right on to those who absolutly loved Ryan s Hope as I do. Ryan s Hope was the reason I started watching Soapnet. I to am saying goodbye to Soapnet. It was number one on my DVR list to be the first thing I would watch in the morning. I also wish it could be found on DVD. Ryan s Hope is a one of a kind classic! Cheers to the idiots who made this choice. May it fail miserably!

    ReplyDelete
  48. I was looking forward to seeing more Ryan's Hope ....but off it went... Forget Soapnet....We need a NEW all soap channel !!!

    ReplyDelete
  49. I am so sad ABC has chosen to cancel these wonderful soaps we have all loved for years. I hope The Chew is a complete flop, we do not need another damn food show. Please listen to the fans, we do pay your salary.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I too am going to miss Ryans Hope. So disappointed they took it off And no 2006 not considered classic.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Come on-if dedicated viewers are starting their early morning schedules by tuning into Ryans Hope-why take away their commitment and enjoyment. Listen to your viewers while you still have the opportunity to listen to them. Before it's too late admit your error and reinstate Ryans Hope.----Or you won't find them listening to Soap Net. Listen to your dedicated watchers-before it's too late? When can we tube back in to watch the best dodo of all. Why not start running repeats of As the World turns and The Guiding Light. Rudns Hope and those three-that would bring you increased viewership. Try it!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Very disappointed that Ryan's Hope is gone. No longer watching Soapnet.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I'm so happy to see I'm not the only person DEVASTATED by Soapnet's thoughtless removal of Ryans Hope. I too will not be watching anymore of their programs.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I can see that ABC loves to alienate their most loyal vieiwers. I am not going to watch their nighttime shows. Taking Ryans hope off after sucking us back in by showing it from the beginning...shame on you! Not to mention AMC and OLTL. I'm done with you ABC...and your sponsors.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I DVR'd "Ryan's Hope" this past month and a half, at least I am lucky to have those episodes. No more reason to watch SOAPNet.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I "LOVED" Ryan's Hope and I am very DISAPPOINTED that you have taken it off "AGAIN".

    ReplyDelete
  57. PLEASE PLEASE PUT RYANS HOPE BACK AT 5 AM-I REFUSE TO WATCH SOAP NET IF YU DONT. PLEASE DONT RUIN MY MORNINGS. THANK YU

    ReplyDelete
  58. Why! Why! why!..I watched Ryan's Hope years ago. There were episodes I missed, and I was looking forward to seeing it all over again. Pat and Delia had just gotten married, I was looking forward to seeing the episodes when Seneca and Jill lost Edmond, and a lot more. I would get off work in the early hour of the morning and catch Ryan's Hope at 4:00 to 5:00 am central time. Please bring it back or at least put it on DVD. You would be surprised at all the people that would buy. Please reconsider.

  59. Very sad that Ryan's Hope has been taken off. I really got hooked again. Big Bummer!

I am really upset that Soapnet took Ryan's Hope off completely! You also have General Hsp. twice in the am. I really enjoyed watching Ryans Hope which then went into The Young and the Restless. You moved that too! If this isn't changed I am not going to be watching. I have been a faithful viewer of your station. But I can see your station doesn't care about it's viewers as this isn't the first time. I should think that your sponsers would be very interested in knowing all of the complaints these moves have generated!!

    ReplyDelete
  61. I'm sorry Ryan's Hope is gone. But I had seen it from the beginning through to Kim's disappearance and Jack's detective work to find out about Joe. I had always hoped to be able to see the show's episodes to the very end (with the Kirklands). I've never seen those.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Please put Ryan's Hope back on Soapnet. We love it. What a big disappointment.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Please, bring Ryan's Hope back. You haven't marketed this program correctly. With the advent of the Ipod and the internet, time is irrevelent to good entertainment. Plus, vintage 70's/80's style is more current and relevant now than 2006! Try being creative and visionary - don't just do the obvious. That is what is killing your network.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I can't believe SOAPNET has taken off RYAN'S HOPE. That is what should be considered a 'true' classic because its a show that talks about real morals & the beliefs that younger generations were allowed to openly talk about in school. It's fun to see how things were & peoples reactions in the 70's. Please bring it back. You have too much garbage on your channel now & with AMC gone, I have no desire to even watch your channel.

  65. I was so upset when Ryans Hope disappeared from my DVR. It showed here in Arizona at 2 and 2:30 AM on Direct TV. I discovered it late, the first show I recorded was in August, and had not been on any forums and did not know it was going to be dropped by SoapNet. I tried everything and finally found a forum on TWop that list hundreds of TV shows, and way down at the bottom there is a link to click on that says "Soap". I saw Ryans Hope there and found the forum. Every day a gal posts a link to the next RH show, so I was able to go back and catch up where SoapNet left off. Kyle also posts "the best of Ryans Hope" on weekends. It's a great forum, so you should get registered. I post as Deanie Hindman because my brother Earl Hindman played Bob Reid on the soap, Delias brother. I am so glad I found that forum. Are we allowed to post links here?

  66. holly crap..i must have been crazy! i would get up at 5am. just to watch Ryan's Hope and then go back to bed till 8am......I'll NEVER start watching another soap again just becuase they stopped it right in the middle of it. they replaced it with GH which is on soap net tons a times a day. BOO to soapnet!!!!!!!!!!

  67. I can't believe they would pull Ryan's Hope without some sort of notice. I have been trying almost daily to try and find the episodes online to watch. But you can only fine a few. Let's get with it guys, if you want for feel the need to pull someything give a fair warning. Please bring it back! Or give us the option to buy the episodes. I am no longer watching Soapnet for any of the shows.

  68. It is almost comforting to see how much company I have in mourning the sudden suspension of Ryans Hope. It was a very special series that never should have gone off the air initially. ABC toyed with its airtime back during the 80's, rotated directors and toyed with other key factors that affected the shows quality consistency. My husband is always surprised when I point out stars who made their debut on RH. It is a charmed little series with a veritable wealth of "real " actors . Maeve and Johnny never took their clothes off, but their love for each other was powerfully portrayed. The solid values they lived by and imbued to their family could serve as much needed role
models today in a society whose credo seems to be "it is what it is". What is, is a shame that the execs at ABC still do not respect the devoted legions of RH fans or the rich legacy of this very special Labine-Mayer creation.

  69. I can deal if I have to on the "New Line up" on Soapnet but like many others Ryan's Hope was part of my morning routine and I urge the powers to be to re consider their poor decision and put Ryan's Hope back on the moring line up!

  75. I LOVE Ryan's Hope and I am so disappointed that it was taken off the air. Why can't there be classic soaps? Like Classic Days of our Lives when Doug and Julie were the item? Young and the Restless, Search for Tomorrow, etc.
Someone is really missing the boat because I know I'm not alone in wanting to see some great classic soaps rerun. By the way, BRING BACK RYAN'S HOPE. Another World was another great soap and that was taken off too. What is WRONG with the powers that be? Please make your viewers happy!
