Prospect Park Names THE Online Network, or TOLN, Future Home Of ALL MY CHILDREN, ONE LIFE TO LIVE Starting January 2012 ("much more in development")

Today, we are one step closer to watching ALL MY CHILDREN and ONE LIFE TO LIVE on the Internet, direct from Prospect Park. In a press release issued earlier today, PP announced the name (and web address) of its new content delivery portal. It's called THE Online Network and will be housed at TheOnlineNetwork.com / TOLN.com.

As of this posting, there's not much to see, but it's worth the click just so you can sign up for the TOLN newsletter.

From the Press Release:
"We are creating TOLN to conveniently deliver fans of quality television long form programming anytime and anywhere," Prospect Park founders Rich Frank and Jeff Kwatinetz said in a statement. "With broadband availability in 70 percent of U.S. households and the proliferation of Internet-enabled televisions, DVRs and wireless devices, ultimately we believe that online distribution provides the best platform to access 30- and 60-minute entertainment content. The viewer response to the shows we have licensed has been tremendous, and we have much more in development to appeal to a broad audience base."

To date Prospect Park has signed five actors from ONE LIFE TO LIVE (Erika Slezak, Michael Easton, Ted King, Kassie DePaiva and Sean Ringgold) and two from ALL MY CHILDREN (Cameron Mathison and Lindsey Hartley). The shows will debut on TOLN.com in January 2012.

Prospect Park also plans to add reality, scripted comedy and drama programming to TOLN's slate in the future.

  3. The key to this whole thing is "anytime and anywhere". It's how all people will watch programming in the future. It's how many watch today. But the internet will allow a flexibility that TV can not and once people get used to it, they won't want to have to watch programs at a specific time. Scripted shows are the best to make this crossover - especially soaps that have a long time loyal audience.

Broadcast TV will look totally different in 10 years. It will be event driven - like sports and news. I doubt there will be much scripted content on it at all. We'll be watching what we want when we want it on the internet.

  8. I will also support AMC and OLTL but also wonder about a fee, however I think paying a little is worth it in the end, I would rather pay then watch ABC on Direct TV and Dish Network has already had issues with ABC.

  9. Thank you, have watched it for 30 years. Just sign as many of the present cast as you can and it should do well. Too many new faces will not be as appealing.

  11. I also want to thank you, and let you know that I fully intend to watch these shows and show you what support I, as an individual soap lover can. Please try to get as many of the actual cast as possible, and ideally keep Agnes Nixon involved with the storyline and writing, and we will follow.
