  1. so sad to see it end on tv at all but if it had to end this way lets hope that PP pulls through and makes things happen in Jan so we know who JR shot!!!

  2. I loved it! I loved the flashbacks and the fact that Jack did not give into Erica's wish to go with him. I loved the speech Tad gave, it encompassed years of history and he was the perfect one to do it. I just hope that JR did not kill himself. I am thinking that these next few months will be like summer hiatus like the prime time shows have. I WILL BE THERE TO WATCH ONLINE OR WHEREVER!

  3. I loved the flashbacks, loved Stuart being back, Marion seeing him, loved Tad's speech but not the ending. Also expected the show to be 2 hours like it was advertised and it wasnt. It's going to be a long wait for it to be on the internet but I will be watching when it returns.

  5. This was pretty good and nice set-up for January. Either they will recast JR or JR shot himself. You would think they would need the party cast, Adam, Brooke, but holes would have to be filled, JR, Angie & Erica!...unless they will recast those characters. I they did need recast Angie and Adam, it would need to be BIG name actors...JR can be recast with someone else..

  6. I was disappointed with the ending. I was expecting something sentimental (I would have enjoyed a lot more flashbacks)and I didn't shed one tear. Jacob Young and Debbi Morgan have new jobs and will not be back. Maybe JR did shoot himself, then, but I wish they didn't make him so bad at the end--I never thought of him as a bad guy. I wanted everything wrapped up happy, since it isn't real life. I will really miss the show--I've been watching since I was a little girl with my mom.

  7. My opinion only... DALLAS' "who shot JR" was much better than "who'd JR shoot" and the Erica/Jackson 'homage' to Rhett walking out on Scarlett just looked lazy and unoriginal. Still, the opening scene made me misty eyed and it was nice to see the assembled ensemble.

When JR told the pilot to stick with the flight plan and said "I have a party to crash," I thought maybe he'd fly the private plane into the Chandler mansion and we'd have an Irwin Allen movie on our hands.

Most disappointing to me was the fact that ABC wouldn't allow for a proper closing credits to honor the cast and CREW, opting instead for the usual flash-crawl on the bottom of the screen while a commercial for THE CHEW played above it. Insulting.

  8. I loved it! The opening with all the births, seeing all the vets and more then 3 over 40's, stuart/marion reunion, tad's speech, bradam proposal, the suspense, all the cliff-hangers. Out of all the soap finales i have seen. this one felt more realistic because not only would life go on in pine valley but everyone wouldn't continue on a happy note.

I am so happy with jackson ending.

  9. The Chew - What an unimaginative sad name for a show. especially for one that replaces AMC

  10. Can't believe it's over. No matter how it ended it ended . I feel like I lost a friend. Best of luck on your new endeavor AMC cast and crew.

  11. I have watched A.M.C. for 36 years and am so sad to see it go.
I really liked the flashbacks to where I began watching all those years ago.
I did not, however, like the ending. If we cannot pursue this soap on the internet, it will have left on a sour note which showed disrespect for all the hard work of the actors over these years.
A.B.C. has made a big mistake replacing A.M.C. with yet another talk/food show. I am sure they will soon find out as they lose millions of viewers which will eventually lead to them losing advertising backers.
This was all about money to some of the powers that be at A.B.C., hope this comes back to bite them.

  12. today's episode was a tremendous dissapointment, from repeated technical difficulties with images pixellating randomly and the screen blacking out, to JR's condition, to the final credits being run across the bottom of a commercial for the chew. That said, I loved the shows earlier in the week, and I will most definitely be watching when it is on the internet, if only because I need to support the folks that stepped up to save our show. Also, if we want this internet conversion to work, we have to watch. It is really that simple, if you want AMC and OLTL to continue, watch. If we don't, when it crashes and burns, we'll have only ourselves to blame.

  13. I hated it. Should have ended happier. ABC knew the fans wanted Jack and Erica to marry. ALso, with all the hoopla about Babe coming back and then she was a "spirit" very disappointing. I hated the lack of respect for 41 years. THe ending simply sucked.

  14. So this is the ending Really? No one could come up with anything original? I've watched AMC from the beginning this was the worst epsiode they took ideas from Gone With The Wind, Dallas, Sopranos very disappointing. JR should have blown up everone.

  15. Actually, I didn't mind it. It was easier for me to accept with the way it ended---kinda like a season-end cliffhanger. Knowing that it will be back in January online allows for anticipation, not frustration because of JR shooting someone. I will be there with or without Susan Lucci. Lets face it-she's in her 60's and is probably ready for a break. AMC will go on no matter what!! I can't wait. And yes, I have cried many tears since I've watched it all 41 years. Hurry up January!!

  16. did not like it, not even a little. WE and the CAST deserved a much more fitting ending/tribute to a job well done for over 40 nyears!

  17. wait i am confused. is amc going to continue online ??? i keep seeing posts from people about january. how did i miss this. what is the deal.

  18. Prospect Park licensed AMC in July with the intention of continuing it on the web (along with OLTL). Link

There have been some delays with AFTRA so only two actors have signed on so far. The last we heard was January (one article I read said February) but I don't think anyone knows for certain when it will be back until these deals are all signed.

  19. I did not like the ending, because I think all of the current storylines should have been finalized and ended peacefully. Many of the fans will not be tuned in to the internet version, if it actually happens, and I may be one of them, because if the writing continues to be like it was, which is what got AMC canceled, the internet version will be a waste of time. I would have liked to have the feeling that a show that I watched from the very beginning, ended on a good note. If the internet version turns out to be a quality production, then maybe I will tune in again. If not I will just look at AMC as a good and close friend that passed away and remember the good ole days when AMC was on top of it's game and a part of my life.

  20. Everyone actually got a happy ending (except for Jerica, they could have gave fans a happy ending but gave what was real and in character.)

By giving each family their own day to honor them made it much easier to end on a cliff-hanger. Since the show was cancel we have seen plenty of flashbacks/montages then any other show. Even before the show got cancel erica got a episode dedicated to her and so did Jangie right before the baby switch.

  21. IMO, three engagements, a pregnancy, Joe and Ruth moving back to PV, Adam and Brooke moving back to PV, Jesse and Angie having a new beginning, and Stuart being alive and reuniting with Marian all made for a satisfactory ending. Especially when you combine that with not only the special episodes from this past week but also the little "surprise" episodes that have been on throughout the year (like the one where they really delved into Erica's relationship with Mona). They threw in a cliffhanger because they do want people to continue watching the show when it comes back in January, and I see absolutely nothing wrong with that. Yes, there are people who won't/can't watch online, but the show is not over.

  22. I'll say it once more after repeating myself until being blue in the face.

Every entertainment outlet, from books to movies to primetime and even daytime, requires one solid foundation which primarily drives their craft: leaving loose ends. By not wrapping everything up, us viewers for four months get to avail ourselves with crafty fan fics wondering how we could continue the story. This isn't anything uncommon (think "Port Charles" finale, the movie "The Wrestler", Stephen King's book "Pet Sematary") at all.

Whether the cliffhanger was the best or not (I'd have preferred more delving into this mysterious second patient), bottom line is PP as a business must offer a final conclusion implying fans to tune in as we have answers to several questions at a later date.

Consider this another textbook example of a finale for a show which holds great potential making its move onto one unpredictable, yet exciting format.

Good job AMC! 8.5 (almost 9) out of 10 stars on this episode. Only thing keeping me from assessing this as a perfect episode? Minute details (more character mentions like Jeff/Tara/Reggie/Lily, one or two additional returns such as an ex husband of Erica's). Otherwise, I'll see you this January!

  23. Am I the only one, (having watched for 40+ years FOR FREE), who is upset that now I will have to pay a monthly price(7.99?) to see my friends from Pine Valley? I know, I know.....its just the sign of the times. but I hate change! Gee, too bad ABC and Disney are so broke they have to charge us.

  25. I hated how all my children ended.
I have watched for as long as I can remember, and I was very disappointed. Liked seeing old cast members and flashbacks though.
