Joseph Mascolo: At the time that they called me I was doing a play with Burt Reynolds down in Houston. So when they called me, I had no idea what they were talking about.
WE LOVE SOAPS TV: Stefano and Marlena have a very complex relationship?
Joseph Mascolo: Yes, as a matter of fact, we had a scene together a week ago, and it was really kind of fun, to get back to those notes again, and I think she enjoyed it, too. And God bless her, she looks wonderful.
Joseph Mascolo: I'm always amazed at Stefano's being so prolific, having children all over the world. I'm amazed that a man as brilliant as Stefano, does not know how to make love to a woman without impregnating her. I mean, how can that be? Every time someone walks through the door, it's like, here's your other son! Oh, okay.

Wonderful interview. The character of Stefano has endured because Joe has made sure he is not a cardboard villain. He has a real passion that makes his evil deeds plausible in his mind, and in the audiences' minds. It was great to see the man behind this strong character. Of all the days actors, Joe Mascolo is the one I'd be most interested in meeting. Thanks for the chance to see the real guy.

ReplyDeleteVery entertaining interview with Joe Moscolo. Interesting to see he loves the John and Marlena connection and has scenes coming up with Hope. I like that the new writers are mixing up the cast. I think his dressing room looks bigger than what the other cast members have. The crew must love Joe if he serves martinis! LOL!

I love it when princess Gina (Hope) and when stefano planted that chip in his brain That.was so cool, And when Joe kidnapped his Queen Marlena that was great too.
