On this date in...

1966: Edward Mallory debuted as Bill Horton on DAYS OF OUR LIVES.

1976: Deidre Hall debuted as Marlena Evans on DAYS OF OUR LIVES.  Mickey Horton was in a sanitarium and Marlena was the psychiatrist that treated him.

1993: DAYS OF OUR LIVES debuted a new opening sequence.



2009: AS THE WORLD TURNS began using a title card instead of a full opening theme. The show would continue with this until its final episode.

  1. Leigh McClosky has the unique distinction of playing two roles back to back on both on two different soaps.

    On Santa Barbara, he played Dr. Zach Kelton, then came back almost immediately as Ethan Asher.

    On General Hosptial, he played Dr. Michael Baranski for a while, then came back a few months later as Damien Smith.
