AS THE WORLD TURNS Honor Roll

Earlier this week I played around with some facts and figures and came up with this list of the longest serving actors in AS THE WORLD TURNS history. Caveat: As I don't have access to precise months of stopping and starting, my figures are only estimates. If you have the specific details, feel free to post in the comments so we can make this list as precise as possible. Also, if you think I have overlooked someone, let me know.

  1. I remember that Rosemary Prinz (Penny) made returns in 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1993, 1998, & 2000.

Tamara Tunie (Jessica) made a 1-day return in 2009.

  2. Great list. Lots of history there.

As I recall, Elizabeth Hubbard was off for 9-12 months in 98-99 due to a contract dispute. One of Chris Goutman's first acts as EP was getting her back on contract.

  3. Don MacLaughlin could never have been on the show for 37 years, for he died when the show celebrated 30 years. The years you wrote down amount to 27, not 37, therefore he would be #4, below Bryggman and Forsythe.

  4. Ethel Remey played Alma Miller for 17 years, from 1961-78.
William Johnstone was still on as Judge Lowell in 1979.
Rita McLaughlin Walter first appeared as Carol Deming Stallings in 1969.
Henderson Forsythe's character died in 1991.
Don McLaughlin was written out in 1983 and returned in 1985.
