Randolph Mantooth shares undying passion for firefighting
In a Friday afternoon interview, Mantooth called firefighters the "heart and soul and backbone of homeland security. To me, nothing's more noble in life [than] to be a firefighter-paramedic."

Starring in the soap opera LOVING was the most fun he ever had. "I thought I was stealing the money," Mantooth joked.

Sean Kanan signed to both Watch Island and Slayers!
The films, slated to shoot this summer in New England, also share producer Pietro D’Alessio of Alexius Omnimedia, who is partnering with Breaking Waves Entertainment’s Bradley Hvolbeck, Jr., on Watch Island (being directed by Matt Zettell) and Pickard’s Penobscot Films on Slayers! (being directed by Kevin MacDonald).

Lifetime should try to embrace its audience instead of run from it
Lifetime's new president, Nancy Dubuc, said one of her first priorities as she takes over the cable network aimed at women is to "take a close look at who the audience is." Well, right now, it's a woman pushing 50 who most likely lives in flyover country. So the question for Dubuc is whether she is going to embrace that audience or try to flee it like her predecessors.

Generations, the top-rated soapie in South Africa, announced their biggest star Connie Ferguson, who's played Karabo Moroka since the show started 16 years ago, has quit.

WSJ: Google to Work With Intel, Sony on TV Platform
Google will unveil next month details of its new Android-based TV software. Google is working with partners including Sony Electronics and chip-maker Intel to roll out the software in consumer products. Google's involvement could provide a boost to the burgeoning market for "connected TVs" that have broadband connections and integrated software for seamlessly bringing Internet content to the TV screen.
