  2. I know that there working on an ATWT tribute, and the show is helping but I don't know anything on Helen Wagner.

  3. I wouldn't count on them getting it right. After all this is the same group that didn't bother to mark the passing of Beverlee McKinsey, Clint Ritchie or Phil Carey :-(

Yeah, because Carrot Top, Blue Man Group and Cheech & Chong just scream daytime! lol

Oh boy, I can hear the tribute to ATWT (and Helen Wagner) and the lifetime tribute to Agnes Nixon being edited down as I type this. Sure the tributes will still happen but last year's "tribute" to Guiding Light will seem like War and Peace in comparison.

I think a tribute to Dick Clark is great...I even remember Bandstand...but where the focus is going to be with all of these other acts that have nothing to do with Vegas just screams how little the suits in the entertainment business think of daytime...and by extension, daytime fans.

Daytime and their fans are like the foster kids from the entertainment business perspective because they keep telling us we are lucky to be getting the crap handed to us so we need to keep quiet and have a smile on our faces.

But the show is only 2 hours so I am wondering what will be cut when the emphasis is on performances. Will we get to see clips of the scenes that the daytime actors and actresses are nominated for? Will the winners get time for an acceptance speech?

I do hope those in attendance will enjoy the evening while we fans who watch the show once again scratch our collective heads to try to figure out what we are seeing during the daytime emmy awards show has to do with daytime television.

When I heard about Regis as host...I thought for sure the show's focus would be strictly daytime and the genre would be really treated with respect. But with it only being a 2 hour show and the numerous Vegas acts they are penciling...my hopes for it really being a daytime show have gone down the drain.
