Craig Ferguson Monologue Slams CBS For Axing ATWT

On his Thursday night show, late night host Craig Ferguson mentioned the Daytime Emmy nominations and slammed CBS for the cancellation of AS THE WORLD TURNS.

The soap opera AS THE WORLD TURNS got 13 nominations which is awesome because it's just been canceled by CBS. Nice going, CBS. Proof once again that the Tiffany Network is doing everything it can to rid the airwaves of quality. First this crap, and now you cancel AS THE WORLD TURNS. What the hell is wrong with you?

AS THE WORLD TURNS was on for 54 years. Some of the cast members are really old. Although they shouldn't worry. On CBS once you get to reach 95, you get to host 60 MINUTES. Back in the 1980s I was addicted to soap operas, and by soap operas I mean cocaine. I never watched soap operas, I was high. It is kind of sad though. There used to be dozens of soap operas on the air and now there's just a few. Soon they'll be relics like newspapers, CDs or natural breasts.
