NBC's quirky SANTA BARBARA is giving its network boss, daytime vice president Brian Frons, a chance to play God. (Entertainment president Brandon Tartikoff was offered the role, but wasn't available.) In the Feb. 21 episode, Lane Davies' character of Mason Capwell has an out-of-body experience after being shot by aging hitman Abe Vigoda and encounters Frons as God, watching TV monitors from GBC (God's Broadcasting Co.) and reading Celestial Variety. Frons will make $502 (actor's scale) for the appearance.

Well, that explains a LOT about Brian Frons!
Wow. How ironic. I remember that storyline, but I didn't know it was Frons who played God. Clearly, the role went to his head!
