Daytime Emmys To Air on CBS on June 27

The 37th Annual Daytime Emmy® Awards will be broadcast Sunday, June 27 (9:00-11:00 Live, PM, ET/delayed PT) from the Las Vegas Hilton in Las Vegas on the CBS Television Network. This is the first time the awards ceremony will take place in Las Vegas.

"The Daytime Emmy Awards are one of the cornerstones of our business and we are thrilled to be back on CBS," said Herb Granath, Chairman, National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS). "Last year's show was one of the most entertaining events in our history, and this year's Las Vegas-based broadcast promises to be even more exciting."

Associated Television International (ATI) will produce the show with ATI President and Emmy Award winner David McKenzie serving as executive producer. "After last year's Daytime Emmy Awards, we are delighted to be working with NATAS again," said McKenzie. "Being on the top-rated network gives us the opportunity to reach a wide audience and moving the show to Las Vegas allows us a dazzling range of production choices."

"Daytime series have a loyal and passionate following," said Jack Sussman, Executive Vice President, Specials, Music and Live Events, CBS Entertainment. "We're excited to honor these series and their viewers in primetime with this annual showcase."

Details regarding tickets will be available shortly.

Nominations will be announced on May 12.

  1. I just can't help to think it's a little more than ironic that the same network that has cancelled two of the longest running soaps and replaced them with yet another game show/talk show wants to air the Daytime Emmy's which is a chance to celebrate that in which they got rid off. And, Vegas, really? Hmm...

  3. Last time I herd there wasn't going to be a tribute, a further insult for ATWT, for being on CBS. I could have cared less were it went, they never gave any ATWT or GL any respect when they were on.

  4. It is very odd that CBS wants to air them, considering they're not that soap-friendly these days. But it's still great that the Daytime Emmys will be airing on a major network.

  5. Cracks me up: CBS cancels Guiding Light last year, cancels As The World Turns this year, and head honcho Les Moonves talks trash about soaps...but CBS then turns around and decides to air the Daytime Emmys. Just wild.

  7. This surprises me. For the reasons everyone has already stated.
I would have been prepared for a daytime-held, non-aired awards program. To have it aired in primetime on CBS really does surprise me.

  8. I remember hearing the producers of the show were planning a 40th anniversary tribute to AMC so that is why no tribute to ATWT. Since there were 9 months of shows on CBS in 2010, the tribute would be held at next year's ceremony.Maybe by then ATWT will have a great finale which will get loads of nominations. Cross my fingers

  9. CBS may be using the Daytime Emmys to promote its other daytime shows. I would not be surprised to see Drew Carey and/or Wayne Brady being the host. They could also use this as a platform to advertise the show replacing ATWT whether it is another game show or a talk show. The people involved with the new show may also end up hosting.
